According to statistics from Hanoi Electricity Corporation (EVNHANOI), in June 2025, the average daily electricity output in the entire Hanoi area will reach more than 90 million kWh, an increase of 12% over the same period in 2024.
Total output in June reached approximately 2,700 million kWh, of which the peak was recorded on June 2 with 110.9 million kWh - the highest since the beginning of the year.
The customer group of the Population Consumer Management component alone accounted for more than 59.5% of total output, an increase of 1.15 times compared to May. This reflects the direct impact of the weather on electricity use in households.
In particular, when students' summer vacation coincides with a peak of hot weather, it leads to the time of using air conditioners and electrical equipment lasting continuously day and night.
High temperatures not only increase the frequency of electricity use but also cause cooling equipment to consume more energy to maintain operational efficiency.
When the temperature difference between indoor and outdoor is large, the air conditioner must operate continuously, with few outages, leading to increased electricity consumption even though the usage period does not change.

In addition, the adjustment of retail electricity prices according to Decision 1279/QD-BCT from May 10, 2025 with an increase of 4.8% at all stages is also a factor that increases household electricity costs in June.
In that situation, EVNHANOI recommends that customers proactively monitor their family's daily electricity consumption through EVNHANOI's customer care ecosystem such as EVNHANOI App, website evnhanoi.vn, etc.
Customers should regularly check electricity output, set warning thresholds when exceeding normal consumption to promptly adjust electricity usage behavior.
Especially in the summer, people should use air conditioners at a reasonable temperature (from 26-28°C), combined with fans, turn off equipment when not necessary and limit the use of many large-capacity devices at the same time during peak hours from 12:00 03:00 and from 22:00 024 every day.
The economical and efficient use of electricity not only helps reduce electricity bills but also contributes to reducing pressure on the national power system, especially during the peak of the hot season.
EVNHANOI always accompanies the people of the capital to achieve the goal of "Elementary saving - becoming a habit", for the benefit of each family and the sustainable development of the community.
