Proactive fuel source S key to stable operation
According to the updated report by the end of May 2025, the factory has received 1.88 million tons of coal, while maintaining an inventory of nearly 500,000 tons, the reserve level is assessed as safe and proactive.
The imported coal used in Vinh Tan 4 has a low content of slag, helping to increase the efficiency of burning furnaces and reduce emissions to the environment. This is a very important factor in the context of thermal power plants increasingly proactively strengthening strict monitoring of emissions and environmental standards.
Notably, the entire process of loading, transporting, storing and treating coal and ash at Vinh Tan 4 Agricultural Zone is highly automated and strictly complies with environmental regulations. Specialized equipment and modern treatment systems help minimize coal dust, wastewater and the discharge of pollutants, thereby ensuring the environment around the factory area is effectively controlled.
With a solid fuel foundation, the entire technical and human system at Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant is mobilized at the highest level to ensure stable and continuous power production.
In May 2025, the total electricity output of both Vinh Tan 4 and Vinh Tan 4 Expansion Thermal Power Plants reached 1,028.4 million kWh. Accumulated electricity production output in the first 5 months of 2025 reached 3,804 million kWh - a very impressive figure in the first two months of the year, the plant was only mobilized at a low load (240 - 300 MW) to prioritize renewable energy sources during the peak sunshine period.
According to the plan assigned by EVN, the total electricity output in 2025 of the Vinh Tan 4 and Vinh Tan 4 Expansion wind power plants must reach 11.432 billion kWh. To achieve this goal, the factory is synchronously implementing many groups of technical - organizational - operational solutions such as: strengthening equipment inspection and maintenance; monitoring machine units in real time and applying many technical innovation initiatives, digital transformation to optimize operational performance.
The factory's leadership especially emphasized the role of human factors in ensuring electricity in the dry season. The team of engineers and operators always work in highly concentrated conditions, but still maintain discipline, sense of responsibility and dedication to meet the mobilization order from the National Power System and Market Operation Company Limited (NSMO).
Previously, speaking at the Party Congress of Vinh Tan Thermal Power Plant for the 2025-2030 term, Mr. Nguyen Huu Tuan - Standing Deputy Secretary of the EVN Party Committee - acknowledged and praised the efforts of the collective of cadres and employees of the Plant in the past time. He emphasized: "The plant has successfully fulfilled its political tasks, maintained safe electricity production, especially during the peak dry season, contributing to ensuring national energy security and always focusing on environmental protection."
This is the highest recognition for a collective that always maintains the spirit of solidarity, proactively overcomes difficulties and is ready for the common goal of the electricity industry - ensuring light for all regions of the country.
