The gratitude journey recognizes more than 1,000 works from the "Write a Story, a City" contest, along with outlining the half-century journey of pride and the values that make up the identity of Ho Chi Minh City.
When the city's identity is explored with new experiences
Launched on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the City named after Uncle Ho, "Our Beloved Ho Chi Minh City" is a tribute from One Central Saigon to the city and generations who have contributed to fostering the identity here. Taking place in the atmosphere of celebrating the 81st anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day September 2nd, the series of activities contributes to connecting the community, spreading love and pride in the city.
Opening the journey, the iconic landmarks on the hoarding strip surrounding One Central Saigon have evoked the image of a Vietnam with diverse culture, where memories and people from many regions converge in Ho Chi Minh City.
The focal point in the space is a 360-degree LED cube block and a touch screen system. Through direct interaction, slices from everyday life, iconic works to the source of heritage and culture are vividly recreated.
The emotional highlight of the program is the award ceremony of the "Writing a Story, a City" contest co-organized by One Central Saigon and Tri Thuc Znews e-Magazine. After two weeks of launching, the contest attracted more than 1,000 entries, with 100 excellent works selected and shared at the program by the Judging Council.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Ms. Thi Anh Dao, Marketing Director of Masterise Group, representative of the organizing unit, shared: "A thousand stories written have contributed to preserving memories and continuing the values that make up the identity of Ho Chi Minh City. With Masterise Group, creating new values always goes hand in hand with preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritage. That spirit is also reflected in the vision of creating One Central Saigon: a symbolic destination, a community-connecting space - where stories, pride and love for the city are met and shared. On the foundation of the values that make up the identity of Ho Chi Minh City, One Central Saigon demonstrates Masterise Group's commitment to accompanying the city on its journey to rise to become a super city of international stature, while preserving and continuing heritage values for future generations.
From Tri Thuc Electronic Magazine, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung, Member of the Editorial Board, Deputy General Secretary of the editorial office, also emphasized that the value of the contest lies in the authenticity and diversity in the way each author tells stories about Ho Chi Minh City.
From preserved values to stories being continued
Half a century since the important historical milestone, Ho Chi Minh City has risen to become an important economic, cultural and creative center of the country. This is also an opportunity for the memories and values that make up the city's identity to continue to be preserved, shared and spread in contemporary life.
Located at the "original coordinates" of Ho Chi Minh City, One Central Saigon is like a crossroads, where the past is cherished, the present is listened to, and the future is touched by new perspectives.
That spirit is conveyed by the project through "Our Beloved Ho Chi Minh City", accompanying the direction of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee in preserving and promoting cultural heritage values in parallel with the urban modernization process; and expanding ways for the community, especially the young generation, to access those values through interaction and new technologies.
From thousands of memories, emotions and private stories shared, the series of activities contributes to depicting a Ho Chi Minh City nurtured by people who have come, been attached to and chosen this place as their home. From the "original coordinates" of Ben Thanh, One Central Saigon is shaping a new symbolic destination, continuing a hundred years of historical value with all gratitude and opening up a radiant hundred-year future for the city named after Uncle Ho.
