Mr. Le Hoang Anh Dung - Deputy General Director of EVNCPC - said: implementing Directive No. 20/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister on enhancing electricity saving for the period 2023-2025, EVNCPC has proactively implemented many synchronous solutions, from operations to community communication.
At the beginning of the year, the Steering Committee for Power Supply Assurance was established, headed by the General Director of EVNCPC. A series of solutions are strongly directed to affiliated power companies including: reviewing key energy users; making a list of important customers to submit to the People's Committees of provinces for approval; signing power saving commitments with many customer groups.
In the first 6 months of 2025 alone, 295,941 customers outside of work participated in signing power saving commitments and agreements, with the electricity output committed to saving up to 343.9 million kWh.
The actual achieved result was 318.98 million kWh, equivalent to 2.45% of commercial electricity output, exceeding the minimum target of 2% set by the Government.
Notably, all customer groups have achieved savings targets. The administrative and career group reached 5.43% (exceeding the target by 5%), public lighting reached 31.15% (exceeding the target by 30%), households reached 2.16% (exceeding the target by 2%), the production group reached 2.20%, and the service business group reached 2.14%.
In addition to applying management and technical measures, EVNCPC focuses on raising public awareness through diverse communication activities, spreading a culture of energy saving in the community.
In the first 6 months of the year, the Corporation has coordinated with central and local press agencies to produce 427 articles on the effective use of electricity. The "electricity saving" section on EVNCPC's website published 61 articles, promptly reflecting good practices and creative saving models from the grassroots.
Social networking platforms also maximize the effectiveness of spread: EVNCPC fanpage posts 25 articles in video clip and infographic formats; the group "Building Central Power" has 36 posts, 14 video clips; the group "EVNCPC - Connecting colleagues" also has dozens of articles with diverse and vivid content.
In particular, the Earth Hour 2025 campaign launched by EVNCPC at units has attracted the active participation of employees and the community. Activities such as running races, cycling parades, online competitions on energy efficiency... are held simultaneously in provinces and cities.
In just 1 hour of the Earth Hour event (20:30-21:30 on March 22, 2025), the cost-effective electricity output reached 51,850 kWh, a meaningful figure.
