Viettel sets a double-digit growth target, making Vietnam a high-tech exporter

The Party Committee of the Military Industry - Telecommunications Group (Viettel) sets a target of double-digit growth each year in the period of 2025 - 2030, mastering national strategic technologies and exporting "Make in Vietnam" technology products. In terms of military, Viettel will be the main force in researching and producing advanced and modern technical equipment and weapons for the Army.

On 3 days 4, 5, 6/8, Viettel held the 11th Congress of the Group Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030. Senior General Pham Hoai Nam - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defense, representatives of the functional agencies of the Ministry of National Defense and the General Department of Politics attended the congress. With a total of 268 delegates called up, representing nearly 10,000 party members from 641 grassroots party organizations.

As a special economic group that did not establish a Board of Members, all activities to implement the group's key and strategic tasks are led by the Party Committee.

2020 - 2025: Viettel pioneers in digital transformation and high-tech defense industry

Over the past term, the Party Committee of the Group has led the unit to successfully complete its tasks, affirming its core and pioneering role in the State-owned enterprise sector, as a convincing demonstration of the correct application, creating a guiding path for developing a socialist-oriented market economy, contributing to the good performance of the functions of the fighting army, the working army and the production army.

Viettel maintained stable growth, breaking through to the finish line at the double-digit speed at the end of the term. Accumulated for the period 2021 - 2025, consolidated revenue will reach VND 888.2 trillion, an increase of nearly 25% compared to the period 2016 - 2020. Viettel is always the leading enterprise in the country, paying the highest corporate income tax, with the value of the No. 1 brand in Vietnam according to the assessment of prestigious international organizations.

In the field of national defense and security, with outstanding achievements, Viettel has mastered many strategic weapons under Project A1, completed research and production of more than 50 types of high-tech weapons that were put into equipment to serve well the training and combat readiness tasks of many units under the Ministry of National Defense.

At the Party Congress for the 2025 - 2030 term, Viettel displayed a number of strategic military equipment products such as: "Truong Son" missile complex, S125-VT anti-aircraft missile complex, fire control radar, surveillance complex that disrupts unmanned aerial vehicles, vertical take-off medium-range reconnaissance UAVs, tactical-level combat UAVs...

2025 - 2030: Breakthrough in science and technology development, making Vietnam an important export country for high-tech products to the international market

With the theme "Building a clean and strong Party Committee, a comprehensively strong Group; pioneering in mastering national strategic technology and industry, promoting international cooperation; key focusing on research and production of advanced and modern weapons and technical equipment", the Congress focused on discussing and developing challenging goals for the period 2025 - 2030.

Viettel will pioneer in maintaining a high average growth rate (2 digits) in line with the determination of the socio-economic development of the Party and State. At the same time, it will promote its global business strategy, making Vietnam a country of high-tech imports to exports. The international revenue target for the telecommunications and digital services sector is growth from 35% to 40%; the growth target for high-tech industrial products and digital technology industry is from 25% to 30%.

The Group proactively researched and developed 9 out of 11 national strategic technologies including AI, digital copy, augmented reality/virtual reality, cloud computing and quantum computing, big data, blockchain, 5G/6G, robots and automation, semiconductor chips, advanced energy and materials, cyber security, aerospace.

In the period of 2025 - 2030, Viettel will play the role of the leading nuclear force in the high-tech defense industry complex; proactively advise and propose new types of technical weapons and equipment for the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense.

At the congress, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defense - directed: "To complete the goals and tasks in the coming term, the Group must constantly innovate, be creative, improve production and business efficiency, and carry out military and defense tasks. Pioneering in mastering national strategic technology and industry; the main force in researching, manufacturing, and supplying advanced and modern weapons and equipment to the Army. Actively invest in facilities, develop new and modern products and services in accordance with the requirements of the 4.0 Revolution. Implementing corporate culture well, maintaining prestige and brand, creating customer trust; enhancing cooperation, expanding the market".
