In order to demonstrate the concern of the Party, State and people of the whole country for the Vietnamese community abroad, every year on the occasion of the traditional Tet holiday of the nation, the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese - Ministry of Foreign Affairs coordinates with relevant agencies to organize the Xuan Que Huong program to welcome compatriots far from the Fatherland to return home to celebrate the traditional Tet holiday of the nation.

Xuan Que Huong 2025 is co-organized by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese - Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Hanoi People's Committee, with the participation of thousands of overseas Vietnamese delegates and relatives, and domestic guests.

The program continues to firmly affirm the close relationship between overseas Vietnamese and the country, thereby continuing to clearly demonstrate the sentiments and responsibilities of the Party and State in caring for the Vietnamese community abroad, promoting patriotism, turning to the roots, and encouraging overseas Vietnamese to preserve the cultural identity, traditions, and language of the nation.

In 2025, the Homeland Spring program with the theme "Vietnam - Rising in the new era" will take place from January 18 to January 20, 2025 (ie December 19 to 21, the year of the Dragon) with many rich contents. Within the framework of the program, the President and his wife will preside over a number of meaningful activities with overseas Vietnamese nationwide: Incense Offering Ceremony at Kinh Thien Palace, Traditional Carp Release Ceremony on the Kitchen Gods' Day at the Presidential Palace...

In particular, in the Xuan Que Huong art exchange program with the theme "Vietnam - Rising in the new era" at the National Convention Center, Hanoi, broadcast live on VTV1, rebroadcast on VTV4 channel of Vietnam Television at 8:10 p.m. on Sunday, January 19, 2025, the President will deliver a New Year's speech to all overseas Vietnamese and beat the drum to open the Spring Festival.

In addition to the activities chaired by the President, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will organize a number of activities for the delegation of 1,000 outstanding overseas Vietnamese, including: Visiting President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, Offering flowers at the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs, Greeting the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Local connection program. Hanoi City leaders will organize a reception for overseas Vietnamese attending the Xuan Que Huong program on the evening of January 19, 2025.
