From the beginning of 2025 to now, domestic gold prices have witnessed a skyrocketing increase. If on January 1, the price of SJC gold bars was listed around 82.2 - 84.2 million VND per tael, then by 7:00 a.m. on November 10, this price had skyrocketed to 146.4 - 148.4 million VND/tael.
In just over 10 months, gold bars have increased by more than 64 million VND, equivalent to an increase of about 76%, making the precious metals market the focus of investors.
However, the increase in gold prices does not necessarily mean the interest that investors are actually receiving. If a person buys gold at the beginning of the year at a selling price of 84.2 million VND/tael and resells it today at a buying price of 146.4 million VND/tael, the actual profit they earn is 62.2 million VND/tael.
In particular, the profit rate reached approximately 74% - a figure that few investment channels in 2025 can compare with. However, the difference between buying and selling remains at 2 million VND/tael, causing real profits to narrow if investors trade in the short term.

Not only gold bars, the price of 9999 round gold rings also increased sharply in the same period. At the beginning of the year, DOJI's Hung Thinh Vuong gold ring was listed at 83.3 - 84.2 million VND/tael, while at Bao Tin Minh Chau it was 82.6 - 84.2 million VND/tael.
By November 10, the price of gold rings had climbed to 145 - 148 million VND/tael at DOJI and 145.8 - 148.8 million VND/tael at Bao Tin Minh Chau.
Thus, buyers of gold rings since the beginning of the year are making a profit of about 60.8 million VND/tael. Although the difference between buying and selling is still around 1.5 - 2 million VND/tael, buyers still record high profits.

In the world market, gold prices also recorded an impressive increase. From the threshold of 2,624 USD/ounce at the beginning of the year, international gold has now surpassed the 4,000 USD/ounce mark, equivalent to an increase of more than 53%. This is a record high price area, reflecting the wave of safe-haven searches amid prolonged inflation, widespread geopolitical instability and the trend of interest rate cuts in many major economies.
The continued net purchase of gold reserves by central banks, especially China and India, also contributed to the increase in the price of this precious metal.

Although profits are high, investors should be cautious. Currently, the gap between domestic and world gold prices is still high. This gap poses a risk of being adjusted if the international market cools down. In addition, the buy-sell gap remains high, making short-term surfing less likely to bring expected profits.
It can be said that after more than 10 months, gold has "danced" in true sense, bringing in a profit of more than 62 million VND/tael for those who have persistently held it since the beginning of the year.
However, the wide range of fluctuations is also a reminder that behind the gold fever is a lot of risk. For investors, this is the time to stay alert, closely monitor market developments and consider carefully before each buying or selling decision.
