Gold prices fall but the potential for increase is still strong
According to a market strategist, gold prices continue to fluctuate around $2,900/ounce, but this precious metal still has great potential to increase as demand from investors is increasingly strong.

In an interview with Kitco News, George Milling-Stanley - chief gold strategist at State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) - said that although gold exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have not attracted much cash flow in this price increase, market sentiment is changing rapidly as investors see new potential for gold.
February was the time of a boom in the gold ETF market, when North American investors rushed to buy.
According to the World Gold Council, last month, North American ETFs attracted 72.2 tonnes of gold, worth $6.8 billion, marking the month with the largest cash flow since July 2020 and the February with the strongest capital flow ever.
Milling-Stanley said that in the context of economic uncertainty and complex geopolitical situations, investors are looking to gold as a safe haven and anti-inflation channel. See more...

Yen continues to move up steadily
The Japanese Yen (JPY) continues to increase in price, currently at its highest level in many months against the US Dollar (USD). Although Japan's economic growth in the fourth quarter was adjusted down, investors still believe that the Bank of Japan (BoJ) will continue to raise interest rates due to rising inflation. In addition, the yield gap between Japan and other countries is narrowing, helping the Yen strengthen.

On the other hand, the market is also concerned about the negative impact of President Donald Trump's tax policies, making investors more cautious. This makes the Japanese Yen a safe choice. See more...
Growing melons instead of rice, saving the drought and salinity
Having just harvested 2,000 m2 of watermelon in rice fields, Mr. Lam Ngoc Tuong - a farmer in Ward 7 (Soc Trang City) - shared: "This crop has a yield of more than 6 tons, selling at prices ranging from 3,500 - 5,500 VND/kg, after deducting expenses, I still make a profit of about 6 - 7 million VND after only 2 months of planting".
According to Mr. Tuong, compared to growing rice, watermelon brings double the economic efficiency. The growth time of watermelon is only about 2 months, helping farmers harvest quickly.

"If the weather is good in a year, the melons will be harvested in just 55 days, and if it is late, it will be 60 days. After harvesting in the dry season, hot weather, and lack of water, we are not affected like growing rice, which takes 3 months to harvest" - Mr. Tuong said. See more...
