Mr. Pham Van Minh (born in 1992) was born into an incomplete family. Without a father, his mother married him when he was only 5 years old, he was raised by his grandmother from a young age in Xuan Lai commune, Tien Lang district, Hai Phong city. At the age of 13, his grandmother passed away, and he moved to Na Mo village, Binh Lieu commune, Quang Ninh province to live with his mother and stepfather.
At the age of 16, Mr. Minh dropped out of school, went to work as a hired laborer and lived in a rented room to cover his own living expenses. In October 2019, he got married. It was thought that from here he would have his own home, but happiness did not last long when an unexpected accident struck.
Less than a year after the wedding, while carrying ornamental plants for the homeowner, unfortunately the pot of ornamental plants broke, he was thrown over the second-floor railing, fell onto the corrugated iron roof and then landed. The accident caused Mr. Minh to have a skull fracture, lung contusion, and jaw distension.

After the accident, Mr. Minh was taken to the emergency room and had to undergo emergency brain surgery. The surgery helped save his life, but he fell into a vegetative state lasting 1 month. To ensure safety during treatment, doctors were forced to perform surgery to remove the skull and send him to Hanoi for 6 months.
Due to prolonged hospitalization and inability to move, Mr. Minh developed many serious complications such as groin joint adhesion, shoulder joint adhesion, causing his hands to be unable to hold up high, and his mouth to be deformed. During this time, he also suffered from severe amputated bone ulcers, necrotizing tissue that had to be removed. Only after treatment stabilized the complications, did he qualify for skull transplantation.
Over the past 4 years, Mr. Minh has undergone a total of 6 surgeries, including 2 skull removals and transplants, 1 right leg surgery and 3 left leg surgeries due to not achieving the desired results. Currently, he still cannot walk normally on his own, and has to use a U-shaped stick to practice short steps during functional recovery.

Every month, Mr. Minh has to stay in the hospital for about 20 days at Quang Ninh Geriatrics - Rehabilitation Hospital, then go home for a few days and then be hospitalized again. Prolonged treatment has made the family's economy increasingly exhausted.
He is no longer able to work, all living expenses and treatment depend on his elderly mother who suffers from many underlying diseases such as diabetes, heart valve defects, and kidney disease.
On his wife's side, about 2 years after Mr. Minh encountered an incident, his wife went to his maternal grandparents' house to live. Currently, he lives with his mother and stepfather. The family said that they had to sell almost all their assets to have money for treatment for him over the years.
My mother also has all kinds of diseases on her body. My mother has diabetes, heart valve discharge, kidney disease, a few years ago she fell and broke her ribs, underwent knee surgery. My mother sold everything to treat me, now my mother is also exhausted," Mr. Minh choked up.
Sharing at the hospital, Mr. Minh said that his biggest wish now is to have money to continue surgery and rehabilitation, hoping to be able to walk on his own feet soon, reducing the burden on his family after many years of prolonged treatment.
What I want most now is to continue surgery and rehabilitation, but my family circumstances are very difficult. I really don't know what else to do," Mr. Minh shared.
