Vang Van Nghia, Nung ethnicity, born in 2014, 6B grade student, Hung Loi Ethnic Minority Boarding Secondary School, Tuyen Quang province. Nghia has never met his biological father.
Right from birth, my mother also left to build a new family. I was taken in and raised by Mr. Vang Van Tuan (born in 1985, residing in Bum Ken village, Hung Loi commune) from a young age.
Mr. Tuan himself also had a broken marriage, alone carrying the burden of life in a highland area with many deprivations.
Despite difficult life and being a poor household for many years, he still tried to work hard every day to raise Nghia to study, hoping that his child would have a brighter future.
However, an unexpected event struck, at the end of January 2026, Mr. Tuan suddenly had a headache and fever and was taken by his family to Tuyen Quang Provincial General Hospital, he was transferred directly to the Central Tropical Diseases Hospital.

Mr. Tuan was diagnosed with acute meningitis and had to stay in the hospital for nearly half a month with a cost of tens of millions of VND. With the difficult circumstances of the two father and son, this is really a large amount of money.
Fortunately, Mr. Tuan's condition gradually stabilized, before the Lunar New Year, Mr. Tuan was discharged from the hospital but his health is currently weak, so he cannot do his daily work, which has made the family's economy even more exhausted.
Nghia and his father are living in a house built with state support under the 2025 temporary housing eradication program. The small house helps the father and son have shelter from rain and sun, but the father's weakness makes Nghia's studies difficult.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha, homeroom teacher of class 6B, Hung Loi Ethnic Minority Boarding Secondary School, said that Nghia is a gentle, obedient, and resilient student. Despite his emotionally disadvantaged circumstances since childhood, Nghia has always tried to study.
Recently, there have been successive upheavals, everyone is worried that she may have to interrupt her studies while her family is facing many difficulties," Ms. Ha shared.
Faced with the particularly difficult circumstances of Mr. Vang Van Tuan and Nghia's family, we really hope that organizations, individuals, and philanthropists will join hands to help, share, and create more conditions for Nghia to continue going to school.
Each support will be like a lifebuoy to help Vang Van Nghia - a studious highland student - continue to write a better future.
