In the small house of Mr. Nguyen Van Tai and Mrs. Thi Dep (in Group 9, An Khuong hamlet, Chau Thanh commune, An Giang province), the sad atmosphere could not subside. In just a short time, the family continuously suffered too great losses. In August 2025, Mrs. Dep's mother passed away after a long time of serious illness. The pain had not yet subsided when recently, their son born in 2000 also passed away after more than a year of fighting illness.
The continuous departure of loved ones makes the already difficult life of the family even more painful.

Mr. Tai's family (born in 1972) and Mrs. Dep (born in 1970) have long lived mainly by growing vegetables. The meager income is only enough to cover daily life. But since their son fell ill more than a year ago, the couple has almost had to put aside farming to take turns taking care of their son at the hospital. Without time to produce, the family's economy is increasingly exhausted. To cover the treatment costs for their son, they have to borrow money from relatives and neighbors. In addition, the family is also in debt to the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies.
Mrs. Dep confided that she and her husband are also suffering from many diseases. Mrs. Dep suffers from asthma, high blood pressure, and her hands and feet are often trembling, so her health has declined. Mr. Tai also suffers from heart disease and falls into depression due to the grief after family upheavals.
More sadly, in the past, the couple also lost a child when he was only 6 years old due to illness. Losses followed each other, making the family almost exhausted both mentally and economically.
Mr. Tran Ngoc Hai - Mr. and Mrs.'s neighbor - shared: "Seeing Mr. Tai and Mrs. Dep's family in difficulty, the neighbors are also very sympathetic. We help as much as we can. I also help take care of farming during the days when the couple takes care of their children in the hospital.

Due to difficult circumstances, Mrs. Dep was considered a near-poor household by the local authorities. The government and mass organizations also regularly care for and support rice and some necessities for the family to overcome the difficult period. However, debts after a long time of treating their child's illness are still a heavy burden for the couple.
Amidst all the difficulties, what Mr. Tai and Mrs. Dep desire at this time is not only to overcome the pain of loss... but also to have more sharing from the community to have conditions to go for examination, treatment, and stabilize their lives.
The joint efforts of philanthropists, benefactors... will be a great source of encouragement to help them alleviate difficulties and have more faith to move forward in life.
Ms. Tran Thu Phuong - Head of the Front Work Committee of An Khuong hamlet - said: "Mr. Tai and Mrs. Dep's circumstances are very difficult, the locality also regularly supports rice and necessities, considering near-poor households. However, with the current conditions plus illness, it is very necessary for the community to join hands to share and help so that they can be monitored and treated.
