Up to now, many universities have announced their expected enrollment plans for 2026. Among them, admission based on international SAT certificates is applied by many schools.
At Hanoi University of Science and Technology (USTH), in 2026, USTH is expected to enroll 1,200 students with 4 methods:
- Admission based on the results of the competency assessment exam organized by the school.
- Admission based on academic ability combined with interview.
- Direct admission according to school enrollment information.
- Admission based on the 2026 high school graduation exam results.
For method 2.1, the conditions for considering international certificates combined with interviews are as follows:
Admission subjects: High school graduates in 2026; candidates who have at least 1 of the following international certificates:
- SAT from 1,100/1,600 or higher or ACT from 24/36 or higher, within 2 years (calculated to the date of application).
- Grade 11 and 12 academic results are evaluated from Good or higher.

For the University of Economics and Law (Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City), the SAT certificate is also used by the school for admission consideration. However, the school uses it for general admission consideration. Specifically:
Method 1: Direct admission and priority direct admission according to the enrollment regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training (maximum 5%)
Method 2: General admission (Performance assessment test scores, High school graduation exam, transcript scores... )
- Subject 1: Candidates who participate in the 2026 National University of Ho Chi Minh City competency assessment exam
- Subject 2: Candidates who do not participate in the 2026 National University of Ho Chi Minh City competency assessment exam
- Subject 3: Candidates who do not participate in the 2026 high school graduation exam (graduated)
- Subject 4: Candidates with international admission certificates such as: international baccalaureate (IB), A-level, SAT, ACT.
At the National Economics University, the SAT certificate score is also used by the school for admission. Specific admission methods are as follows: Direct admission; Admission based on high school graduation exam scores; Combined admission.
In which, combined admission is the main method, divided into three groups.
Group 1 are candidates with international SAT certificates from 1,200/1,600 or ACT 26/36 or higher. These are two common standardized tests in the US.
Group 2 are candidates with competency and thinking assessment exam results, at least 85/150 HSA, 700/1. 200 APT or 60/100 TSA. Students can use independent exam scores, or combine them with international English certificates such as IELTS from 5.5, TOEFL iBT 46 or higher.
Group 3 are candidates with English certificates combined with graduation exam scores in Mathematics and another subject. Conditions for certificates are similar to group 2.
Previously, many universities announced their plans to consider independent or combined international SAT certificate scores in 2026 admissions such as: Academy of Journalism and Propaganda; University of Science (Vietnam National University, Hanoi); Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology, Hanoi University of Science and Technology...
