From September 2023, without having to come directly, visitors can observe Con Dao with a full view from overview to details of many landmarks on this island district, by accessing the website with a 3D map with a 360o view of images of tourist destinations easily, via phone or computer.

This is also the first locality in the province to launch a 3D tourist map with a 360o view introducing the whole view of Con Dao and notable destinations such as: Con Dao Museum, Phu Hai Prison relic, Hang Duong Cemetery, Hon Bay Canh, Hon Cau, Hon Ba and Con Dao sunset viewing spot...

Ms. Vo Thi Van - Director of the Con Dao National Tourism Management Board - said that through monitoring, the number of visits and shares of the 3600 Con Dao tourism map has continuously increased over time, becoming one of the effective tools to promote Con Dao.

“The locality is implementing phase 2 of integrating the latest and most prominent tourist attractions into the 360o Con Dao tourism map with realistic and vivid images of the destinations, thereby promoting interaction and the number of tourists to Con Dao,” Ms. Van informed.

By early 2024, the 360o map of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province will also be officially launched (https://bariavungtau360.vn); helping visitors easily observe many landmarks with full perspectives, from overview to details; integrating Google map to provide location and location information.

Mr. Truong Huu Chien - Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications - said that at present, the map has only been updated in some places in Ba Ria - Vung Tau, with subtitles and explanations in 2 languages: Vietnamese and English. In the next phase, the map will develop more topics in the localities; upgrade the explanations in Korean, Japanese, and Chinese.

“The 360o virtual reality map of Ba Ria - Vung Tau has become a channel to promote the potential and beauty of the locality, supporting the tourism industry and attracting investment,” said a provincial leader.

Tourism agencies and businesses join in digital transformation

Recently, the Department of Tourism has just announced 230 tourist areas and destinations; announced 54 tours, intra-provincial tourist routes and tourism stimulus programs in Ba Ria - Vung Tau in the fourth quarter of 2024. Of which, there are 12 tours and routes serving cruise tourists, expected to attract a large number of international tourists, promoting the friendly image of the locality.

No longer in the form of advertising through documents, leaflets, television... the above content is all included in QR codes and published on information channels. Just by raising the phone to scan the code, visitors can quickly grasp information about destinations and tours to choose a suitable schedule for themselves.

This is one of the information technology application solutions in the digital transformation process, organized by the locality to affirm the brand and enhance the competitiveness of Ba Ria - Vung Tau tourist destination.

Along with the promotion of digital transformation by the authorities, many tourism businesses in the area have actively applied digital technology products to production and business activities. In addition to promoting products on sites such as Booking, Traveloka... or building fanpages, some businesses also focus on increasing convenience, comfort, and modernity in services.

For example, Premier Pearl Hotel, Ward 2, Vung Tau City has put into operation service robots in the restaurant area, reception hall and received the love of tourists. This business has just continued to put into use robots that can use the elevator themselves, serving guests in their rooms. Equipped with a sensor system; the ability to identify paths and obstacles; program to use the elevator and move to, ring the bell at the room that needs service; and the ability to work continuously for 13 hours without charging, one robot operates equivalent to 4 shifts of labor in 1 day.

Ms. Helen Nguyen - Manager of Premier Pearl Hotel - said that by operating both types of robots, the automatic service utilities at the facility have been increased, in a modern direction, creating comfort, excitement and a certain privacy for tourists staying here. At the same time, it also follows the digital transformation trend of the tourism industry in particular and the whole country in general.

Mr. Do Phuoc Trung - Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism - commented that recently, digital transformation has been taking place strongly in the tourism business community, demonstrated through online service booking and payment; application of technology in management and service... Along with that, investment in digital transformation resources has been taking place strongly, contributing to building the image of Ba Ria - Vung Tau tourism to develop in a modern direction, but friendly and safe for tourists.

In the coming time, the tourism industry will continue to focus on digitalization activities, digital information about tourist areas, destinations, tourism service facilities, and even the tourism market.
