On July 18, the exhibition "Minh hac xuong mai" by artist Dang Kim Long opened, bringing nearly 50 unique lacquer paintings, marking the persistent artistic journey of the artist born in 1955. The works are the crystallization of the artist's love for Vietnamese traditional cultural values combined with contemporary visual thinking.

If the sophisticated lacquer technique is the solid artistic foundation of Dang Kim Long, then the image of a young woman is where his painting personality is fully and completely revealed.
Carefully observing nearly 50 current works in the exhibition "Minh hac xuong mai", viewers will notice that the image of women in his paintings is meticulously built on three completely different layers of meaning.
Starting with an elegant visual beauty of the body, going deep into the hidden East Asian culture and finally, reflecting the world's inner subtlety of the artist himself before time.

Throughout the exhibition space is a flow of ethnic cultural memories full of emotions with images of springs filled with colorful flowers, traditional festivals, the echoes of ethnic musical instruments and even abstract, expressive colors.
According to art researcher Cuong Quach, the lacquer works of painter Dang Kim Long are proof of preserving the soul of ethnic artisans with modern fine art thinking. Lacquer paintings are also a place to condense the eternal, profound light of time and traditional handicraft techniques, helping to elevate the value of long-term use through many generations.
The exhibition "Minh hac xuong mai" will officially open to the public and filmmakers until July 28 at Gallery 3B (Cau Kieu ward, Ho Chi Minh City).
