On November 27, the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province announced that it has just issued Decisions to recognize two more occupations as Traditional Occupations of Thua Thien Hue province.
Two professions recognized as Traditional Crafts of Thua Thien Hue province on this occasion include Kim Long Ginger Jam Craft (Kim Long Ward, Hue City) and Bao Vinh Forging Craft (Huong Vinh Ward, Hue City).
Kim Long ginger jam is a typical and famous profession of Hue, which has existed for hundreds of years, closely associated with the life of Hue people since the Nguyen Dynasty until now. Ginger jam is a jam offering to ancestors and is an indispensable jam during Tet and Hue culture. Currently, the ginger jam making profession in Kim Long is still developing.
Bao Vinh blacksmithing is a long-standing profession, originating from Hien Luong village, which is famous for its traditional blacksmithing and iron craft for many generations. People started migrating here more than 100 years ago. Over time, a hamlet specializing in blacksmithing gradually formed, producing utensils and tools to serve the daily life and agricultural production activities of the people here. Up to now, blacksmithing has been associated with the cultural life of Bao Vinh Residential Group (in Huong Vinh Ward, Hue City).
