Recently, information has been circulating on social networks that in 2148 there will be a full moon (there will be 2 months of the first lunar month). Rare events make many people wonder if people can have a double Lunar New Year holiday and celebrate?
Explaining this issue, in an interview with Lao Dong, researcher Dang Vu Tuan Son - Chairman of the Vietnam Astronomical and Astronomical Services Administration (VACA) - said that because the time of 2148 is still quite far away and there is not enough accurate data, it is not possible to confirm it for sure.
"However, according to current data from some sources on the Chinese lunar calendar combined with looking up astronomical data on the lunar phase, it is true that the year of the Dragon 2148 will have two months in January. In 2148, there will be 2 days on January 1, which are Sunday, February 21, 1488 and Tuesday, February 20, 1488 of the lunar calendar," said the expert.

However, according to researcher Dang Vu Tuan Son, "welcoming Tet twice" is unlikely to happen.
"We celebrate Tet to welcome the New Year, not to welcome January. Moreover, Assuming after more than a century, we still live and work according to current administrative rules, no place can let you take a break until two holidays like that," said the expert.

Mr. Tuan Son also explained that the Labor month in the Lunar calendar is the month added to balance the Lunar calendar with the Lunar calendar, or in other words, to balance relatively with the weather change cycle (because the total length of the 12 lunar months is approximately 10 days shorter than the Lunar calendar year).
According to the lunar rules, a month starts on a day containing a "lightning point", which is the time when the moon's portion of light is completely not facing the Earth (in astronomy, it is called the Young Moon/New Moon point).
For years that need a leap month, the month chosen as the leap month (ie two consecutive months with the same name) is the month in which there is no start date for any of the 12 leap months of the weather calendar.
For example, 2025 is the June profit year. The 6th lunar month begins on June 25 and ends on July 24. The following month began on July 25 and ended on August 22. This month starts after the starting point of theunar New Year named Great Test (23.07) and ends before Autumn Festival (23.8), so it was chosen as the leap month.
