Spreading the value of great solidarity
Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy affirmed that the Week of "Great Unity of Ethnic Groups - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" is an activity of profound political, cultural and social significance, contributing to building a spiritual foundation for the country's sustainable development.
According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, guests include representatives of central agencies, ministries, branches, press agencies; along with leaders of diplomatic agencies, embassies, foreign cultural centers, international organizations and accompanying businesses in cultural projects.
In particular, more than 200 artisans and people of 18 ethnic groups such as Tay, Nung, Dao, H'Mong, Muong, Lao, Thai, Co Tu, Gia Rai, E De, Khmer, Kho Mu, Xu Dang, Ba Na, Raglai, Kinh, Cham Ba-la-mon... will directly participate in a series of cultural, handicraft, and festival heritage performances. This is considered one of the event seasons with the largest and most diverse cultural subject force.
Colors of multi-ethnic culture
Mr. Trinh Ngoc Chung - Director of the Department of Ethnic Culture - Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee - said that this year's week is designed with many rich activities imbued with the identity of ethnic groups.
The event aims to honor the spirit of great national unity - a value that has been fostered over thousands of years of history. At the same time, promote the rich cultural treasure trove of the community of 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam.
Cultural, sports and tourism exchange activities are designed to celebrate Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23), strengthening national pride and raising public awareness of the role of heritage in national development.
Through hands-on experiences with artisans, exchanges of ethnic cuisine and folk cultural activities, the event vividly introduces Vietnamese cultural identity to international friends. This is also an opportunity to strengthen friendship, expand cooperation, and at the same time affirm the sustainable vitality of ethnic cultures in the context of integration.
The 2025 "Great Unity of Ethnic Groups - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" Week opens with the National Great Unity Festival at the Vietnam Ethnic Culture - Tourism Village on November8; followed by the Ho Chi Minh City and Incense Offering Ceremony at the K9 Relic Site on November 22.
The highlight of the program is the Opening Ceremony of the Week of "Great Unity of Ethnic Groups - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" combined with the opening of the 2nd Muong Ethnic Culture Festival, held at 8:00 p.m. on November 24. It is expected that more than 1,000 delegates and tourists will attend. The art program at the Opening Ceremony focuses on expressing the traditional depth of 54 ethnic groups, honoring the spirit of community solidarity and introducing the image of Vietnam with rich identity to international friends.
The 2nd Muong Ethnic Culture Festival takes place from November 22 to 24 with performances of folk songs, folk dances, costumes, festival excerpts, traditional crafts, displaying cultural - tourism products and parading around Hoan Kiem Lake. In addition, many regional cultural spaces also participated: Vinh Long brings "Rich River Culture"; Cham Ba-la-mon people introduce Bau Truc dance, folk music and pottery; ethnic groups in the Central Highlands, the South, the North perform folk songs, cuisine and handicrafts.
Within the framework of the event, the Scientific Workshop "Conservation and promotion of traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities associated with tourism development" took place on November 24. On the same day, the cultural promotion program for the international diplomatic delegation will introduce an overview of the "Common House", experience folk culture, traditional cuisine and interact with artisans.
