Before the movie Squid Game">Squid Game 3 aired, Lee Jung Jae shared frankly about Seong Gi Hun - a role considered an icon in his career.

Squid Game is a famous Korean survival series.

In the third part, the work continues the stressful story of Seong Gi Hun (Lee Jung Jae) - who returns to the competition with personal duties; Front Man (Lee Byung Hun) - who hides his identity to penetrate the game; and other surviving contestants facing the final chapter of the brutal game.

Before the show aired on June 27, Lee Jung Jae had a conversation with Arena Homme Plus magazine.

When asked about his iconic role as Seong Gi Hun in Squid Game, Lee Jung Jae was straightforward: I have been doing this job for a long time and have held on to many different roles.

Some were warmly welcomed, some were not. I try to stay calm and consider Seong Gi Hun as just one of those roles. Of course, he is a character in an extremely successful project, but I can't let myself be caught up in that success."

The 53-year-old actor added that because this is a role that he spent a lot of time reflecting and filming, and at the same time connected with the audience through the character, he felt very happy that this is a meaningful character in his life.

Looking back on his acting career over the past 3 decades, Lee Jung Jae confessed that he never thought he would achieve such success or would act for so long.

Every year, I still hope to do another good job. The years just passed. The fact that I did a good job gave me the opportunity to do another job next year. It was not planned or predicted.

Life doesn't go as you expect; all you can do is continue to work hard. And somehow, that got me where I am today. I am extremely grateful for that, the actor said.
