On the afternoon of November 24, at the press conference to launch the TV series "Gia dinh bat phong", Meritorious Artist Hoang Hai and Meritorious Artist Kieu Anh brought attention to their roles, especially the "secondary" perspectives on middle-aged love expressed in the film.
In the film, the artist couple plays Mr. Phi and Mrs. Anh, who are building a special love story at the age of U50, going through many storms together.
Meritorious Artist Hoang Hai expressed his opinion: "When in love, love, whether U18 or U50, is the same in nature."
On the contrary, Meritorious Artist Kieu Anh has a more realistic and specific perspective, saying that love at the age of U50 is clearly different from love at the age of U18 or U20 in terms of emotions or way of expression. She had to learn about U50 love affairs in real life and discuss with her co-stars to have materials for the role.
However, what is especially noteworthy and predicted to be the most controversial factor is the personality and way of expressing the love of the U50s of the character Ms. Anh.
Mrs. Anh is described as an overly optimistic, carefree, carefree, innocent person, and a completely lost idol to her husband. This innocence is pushed too much compared to the age of 45, making this role a "trace" for the average middle-aged woman.
When Mr. Phi was having an important meeting that decided his career, Ms. Anh still hesitated to call him home just because her pet dog died. Mrs. Anh's actions showed that she was too carefree, affecting her husband's career.
In another segment, Mrs. Anh fought back against her husband, crying enthusiastically when revealing her husband's career secret that had disappeared in front of her children, making Mr. Phi angry.
The image of Ms. Anh is also portrayed realistically through often wearing colorful sleeping clothes when at home and the lack of depth in her way of speaking.
Meritorious Artist Kieu Anh shared: "Ms. Anh is 45 years old but her husband still pampers her like a baby, still the princess of the family. In the film, there are many scenes that I play as a child and my daughter herself is like a mother, protecting Mrs. Anh."
The actress said that she had to show her carefree and childishness throughout the early stages of the film. It was this "too awkward" performance compared to the age of 45 that made Meritorious Artist Kieu Anh and Meritorious Artist Hoang Hai afraid of being hated by the audience.
"I think when the role reaches the audience, they will hate it more because Ms. Anh's performance is too compared to her age. Why is it that even at the age of 45 she still struggles with her husband and children, sometimes it's called the whole family", the actress expressed her concern that the audience "doesn't like" her role.
Meritorious Artist Kieu Anh explained that Ms. Anh would not "grow up" partly because of Mr. Phi's excessive complacency. Mr. Phi has protected Mrs. Anh for many years, so she has maintained her innocence as a child. This is the way to express the couple's conflict-filled love of the U50s.
She hopes that in the first episodes of the film, only 50% of the audience will love the role of Mrs. Anh.
"Gia gia re trang" airs at 8:00 p.m. every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday on VTV3, starting from December 1.
