After Netflix's "Squid Game 2" was released, the most hated and angry character was definitely player 333 Lee Myung Gi, played by Im Si Wan.
Myung Gi was a famous YouTuber who fell into debt for investing in virtual currency. While fleeing from subscribers who lost their investment because of him, Myung Gi joined Squid Game and met his ex-girlfriend Jun Hee (Jo Yuri).
Initially, he tried to help Jun Hee, who was pregnant with his child. But later, he made selfish decisions every time he faced a choice.
In order to survive and win, Myung Gi even kills players in extremely defenseless situations like Hyun Ju (Park Sung Hoon). The climax of the inhumane act was when Myung Gi used his own life to threaten Gi Hun (Lee Jung Jae). In the end, he had to die because of his calculation and cruelty.
On forums, the audience called Myung Gi "the worst villain of Squid Game".
In a recent interview, Im Si Wan admitted that his role was an hated character. However, the actor expressed optimism: "I have been criticized a lot recently. But I heard that, as an actor, being hated for playing a villain is a blessing. So, I will try to consider it a compliment and enjoy this time.
Many opinions say that Myung Gi is an villain who is even worse than Thanos (T.O.P) and Nam Gyu (Noh Jae Won). According to Im Si Wan, during filming, he was confused by the director's instructions, he did not know if his character was a completely bad person or not.
Finally, Im Si Wan concluded, Myung Gi is not the most evil villain, but he is definitely the most hated one.

Talking about the scene where Myung Gi killed Hyun Ju, Im Si Wan shared: I lost complete trust in Myung Gi when he killed a just person like Hyun Ju. Viewers say they felt betrayed in the final, but I think they were too patient and generous.
Regarding the scene where Myung Gi threatened to throw his child, Im Si Wan said it was a "shocking" scene and he "did not want to face it".
I read the script before and knew it was a climax, I definitely had to go through it. That is a scene that I do not want to face as a human being.
When preparing for such a scene, I had to fight a lot of emotions. I don't even want to face the preparation process for it," the actor shared.
When asked if Myung Gi really wanted to throw the child away in that scene, Im Si Wan replied: I filmed it while thinking that I couldnt throw the child away. I don't think he really had any bad intentions for the child. It was an action he did not intentionally do, and was just a trick with the purpose of threatening to overcome the situation.
Im Si Wan also shared about the character Myung Gi according to his own analysis during filming: I didnt think he was a completely bad guy. Of course, he had bad intentions and used many tricks, which led to bad results.
Jun Hee was the motivation for him to survive, but that motivation has disappeared. I think that is the reason for the emptiness and anger inside him.
Until the end of filming, I still wondered what kind of character Myung Gi was. In the end, I concluded that he was a shy person."
Im Si Wan has announced that he wants to stop playing a villain role. After Squid Game, the actor has not changed his mind.
Right now, I want to show some of my gentler and better aspects, the actor said.
