On January 8, Park Gyu Young shared a photo believed to be related to part 3 of the movie “Squid Game” on his personal Instagram account but quickly deleted it.
The photo shows the actress wearing a pink guard uniform, accidentally revealing another male actor sitting next to her.
According to Naver, the actor in the photo is Lee Jin Wook - who plays Park Gyeong Seok in "Squid Game 2" - a character who participates in a deadly survival game to earn money to treat his daughter Na Yeon's leukemia.
His connection to Park Gyu Young's defector character Kang No Eul makes viewers curious.
Many people analyzed the photo, speculating why Lee Jin Wook's character wore a pink guard uniform like No Eul.
Others expressed disappointment when Park Gyu Young accidentally revealed an important plot twist, despite the fact that the production team of “Squid Game” has always emphasized strict security measures to prevent spoilers.
In fact, during filming, even visiting the set required many confidentiality agreements, and media activities were conducted under tight security conditions.
Therefore, the decision to post Park Gyu Young's photo without going through content censorship has been criticized.
Especially when in previous interviews, the actress always appeared cautious, constantly reminding viewers that all revelations will be in part 3.
“Part 3 will clarify the unresolved parts of the story from part 2. Many characters and stories will come to an end, and the world built by the director will be fully explained,” she said.
According to Korean newspapers, Netflix always enforces strict confidentiality agreements for cast and staff, with potential penalties for violations, including claims for damages.
The producer has not yet responded to whether Park Gyu Young will have to pay compensation for the above incident, while her management company has not yet made an official statement.
However, according to the film's developments, No Eul will return in part 3. Her character has similarities with Sae Byeok in part 1 when they are both fugitives and leave their families behind.
Many viewers speculate that the two may be related because Sae Byeok's name means "dawn", while No Eul means "dusk".
