The 50th anniversary of Saigon City - Gia Dinh honorably officially named after President Ho Chi Minh (July 2, 1976 - July 2, 2026) is a special milestone for the city's people. For many artists who have been attached, grown up and become famous in Ho Chi Minh City, this is not only an opportunity to look back at the development journey of the largest city in the country but also an opportunity to express gratitude to the land that nurtured their careers and lives.
As a person born in Hanoi but spending most of her life attached to Ho Chi Minh City, whenever mentioning the city named after Uncle Ho, People's Artist Trinh Kim Chi always feels grateful and proud.
According to the female artist, Ho Chi Minh City has opened up precious opportunities for her to study, work and pursue the path of art. From the early days of embarking on the profession to becoming an artist, director and stage manager, the city has always been a place to create conditions for her to grow up.
In my heart, there are always two regions of longing. Hanoi is where I was born, where I have childhood memories and roots. And Ho Chi Minh City is the place that gave me a life, a career, a home and a lot of affection," People's Artist Trinh Kim Chi shared.
The female artist believes that the milestone of 50 years of the city bearing Uncle Ho's name is not only a source of pride, but also a reminder to each citizen, especially those who work in the arts, to live responsibly, continue to contribute to be worthy of the city's tradition of affection.
In harmony with the atmosphere of celebration, Trinh Kim Chi's stage will participate in an art performance program in response to the event with the play "Ngay ay khoat troi" by author Nguyen Khang Chien directed and staged by the female artist herself. The work will tour in Ho Chi Minh City with some military barracks, contributing to spreading historical values and gratitude to previous generations.
Sharing that feeling, People's Artist My Uyen considers Ho Chi Minh City as the place that made her name after many years of persistent pursuit of art. Attached to the Small Stage Drama Theater (i.e., 5B drama stage) through many stages of development, she has witnessed many ups and downs of the city's stage life.
According to People's Artist My Uyen, the most precious thing in Ho Chi Minh City is that the art environment is always open, dynamic and creates conditions for artists to create. This place has helped many generations of actors find opportunities to assert themselves, including her.
The female artist expressed her joy when witnessing the city constantly innovating after half a century of being named after Uncle Ho, and at the same time hoped that traditional theater would continue to be concerned to preserve cultural identity amidst modern life.
On this occasion, the Small Stage Drama Theater organized 3 performances with the political drama "Comrade".

Meanwhile, MC Hong Phuc - a familiar face of Vietnam Television - also has a lot of affection for Ho Chi Minh City, where he lives, studies and grows up.
The male MC said that Ho Chi Minh City is a land of dynamism, affection and always gives opportunities to young people who dare to strive. That environment has helped him accumulate experience, train bravery and gradually affirm himself in the field of program hosting.
According to Hong Phuc, the milestone of 50 years of the city named after President Ho Chi Minh is not only the pride of the people of Ho Chi Minh City but also the common pride of many people who have been attached to the city.
He believes that the values of solidarity, creativity and affection will continue to be preserved so that Ho Chi Minh City develops more and more civilized and modern, worthy of its role as the economic and cultural locomotive of the whole country.
