On October 6, the film crew of "Once Upon a Time There Was a Love Story" met with the media in Ho Chi Minh City. Phan Manh Quynh appeared on stage and revealed that he plays the role of writer Nguyen Nhat Anh in the film.

The male artist shared the reason for accepting to act in a movie for the first time: “When the director invited Quynh to play the role of Uncle Anh, Quynh felt very moved. Uncle Anh is my idol in literature, the person who accompanied me during my youth.
I also looked up clips of him giving interviews outside and saw that he was shy and timid in front of a crowd like me, so I felt sympathy. Taking on this role is a beautiful memory in my life."
Phan Manh Quynh also shared about his composition for the film: “At first, I thought a lot because I wrote the music for "Mat Biec". But then, I bought the book "Ngay Xua Co Mot Chuyen Tinh" to read and found a way to exploit this story completely different from "Mat Biec".
The song "There is a love story" has a perspective and story that I have never written before.
Writer Nguyen Nhat Anh affirmed that he does not interfere in the work of the screenwriter and director of the film "Once Upon a Time There Was a Love Story" in particular and other film adaptations in general.
He revealed: “I never read a movie script. I am just the author of a book, when I put the final dot on the manuscript, I become a reader like everyone else, except that I am the first reader of this love story so I will have my own feelings.
When adapting their work into a film, writers must respect the director. The director's vision is the most important, they must make choices about actors, music, and acting. We must know where to stop.
Responding to writer Nguyen Nhat Anh, director Trinh Dinh Le Minh expressed: “During the process of making the film, we talked and exchanged a lot with Mr. Nguyen Nhat Anh to better understand the work. Mr. Anh is a person who respects young filmmakers like us very much.”
At the same time, director Trinh Dinh Le Minh also added about the "hot scene" in the youth school movie "Ngay Xua Co Mot Chuyen Tinh": "I know that this is a rare book written by Nguyen Nhat Anh that has such an intimate element between the main character. And "Ngay Xua Co Mot Chuyen Tinh" will be a rare movie adapted from Nguyen Nhat Anh's story with a hot scene. This is an important scene, expressing the character's decision, so we are determined to convey this to the audience."
