Set in the 1980s, the film A Hundred Memories tells the story of the close friendship between Go Young Rye (Kim Da Mi) and Seo Jong Hee (Shin Ye Eun) - two employees at Cheong A transport company and their first love - Han Jae pil (Heo Nam Joon).
The film aired on September 13 and received positive feedback from the audience about the classic setting, footage with strong cinematic content, soundtracks or the natural acting of the cast. In the evening episode of October 12, "A Hundred Slices of Memories" achieved a viewership rating of 7.5% - the highest since it aired. However, the film's content is receiving mixed reviews.
The majority believe that the first half of the film is following a beautiful friendship direction, trying to pursue the dreams of Young Rye and Jong Hee. The two were willing to sacrifice for each other, even Jong Hee gave up her love affair with Jae pil because she knew her best friend also had feelings for him.
However, in the second half, the plot of the film follows a pure love triangle. The character's personality after 7 years also has many other changes that make viewers feel confused. In particular, the fact that Young Rye has not been able to fulfill her dream of becoming a teacher, is uncertain about her best friend's ex-boyfriend... received mixed opinions.
While Jong Hee is also completely different: from a strong girl, determined to put aside the "old ghost bullying new ghost" at work, giving all her money to her family to borrow, standing up to protect her when she sees her friend in danger, now she has become weak, scared, controlled by her adoptive mother, even wanting to compete with Young Rye because she still has feelings for Jae pil.
The audience noticed that towards the end of the plot of the film "A hundred Slices of Memories" is somewhat similar to "The Unforgettable Heir" (played by Lee Jae Wook, Lee Junyoung) because from the initial beautiful friendship, they became confrontation just because they were in love with someone.
This is considered a great regret, especially when "Tram Tu Nho" is a work with an investment, carefully researched in context and music.
On the other hand, as director Kim Sang Ho initially shared, the film wants to convey the message of "youth", about friends in their twenties who are still ugly to the world, they may not see that they are mature, but through experiences, they gradually change and grow up, but in reality the way of storytelling is confusing, mainly revolving around love.
