Continuous heavy rain from the night of November 15 to noon of November 16 has caused many serious impacts on the lives of people in Khanh Hoa province.
According to the Provincial Hydrometeorological Station, the rainfall measured from 1am to 12pm on November 16 in Nha Trang area reached 75.6mm, while Dien Phu commune recorded 62.4mm.


In the wards of Bac Nha Trang, Nam Nha Trang and Tay Nha Trang, many roads were flooded locally, with common flooding levels from 0.2 - 0.8m.
The meteorological agency forecasts that the flooding range will continue to expand if heavy rain continues.
After recording some flooded areas due to heavy rain, the standing militia of Bac Cam Ranh ward proactively deployed measures to ensure the safety of the people.
The Military Command of Bac Cam Ranh Ward has established 3 mobile working groups, regularly patrolling and inspecting important routes in the area.
Teams focus on monitoring areas prone to flooding, drainage ditches, steep roads and points at risk of landslides, promptly detecting unusual situations to report and coordinate with authorities to handle them.
In addition, the militia also directly supported people to move through deeply flooded areas, providing instructions on ensuring traffic safety during bad weather.
According to the forecast, the risk of flash floods and landslides in Khanh Hoa province has been raised to level 1 natural disaster risk. In the next 6 hours, the rainfall in the South of Khanh Hoa may reach 50 - 100mm, in some places exceeding 150mm; in the North of Khanh Hoa, it may fluctuate between 40 - 70mm, in some places over 100mm.
The locations are warned of a very high risk of landslides, including: Phuong Hoang Pass on National Highway 26 through Tay Ninh Hoa; Khanh Le Pass connecting Nha Trang - Da Lat on National Highway 27C in Khanh Vinh; Chai Lay and Chai Ma Bai mountain slopes (Tay Ninh Hoa ward); Hon Giao cliffs in Tay Khanh Vinh commune, Nam Khanh Vinh commune; and the mountainous areas of Khanh Son district.
In the face of complicated developments in floods, local authorities recommend that people raise their assets, clear water flows, and proactively prevent flooding in residential areas and industrial parks.

The education sector is required to closely monitor the weather situation and proactively let students stay home if the flood situation goes badly.
Authorities across the province are on duty at deeply flooded areas and areas at risk of landslides to control traffic, guard and support evacuation. At the same time, localities have prepared food and necessities for rescue when necessary.
It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours (from 2:00 p.m. on November 16 to 1:00 p.m. on November 17), heavy rain will continue to continue to persist over a wide area in Khanh Hoa.
