Outstanding physical strength of the 3 buffaloes entering the country
Of the 16 buffaloes participating in the 2025 festival, there are 3 buffaloes imported from Thailand: buffalo number 15 of Mr. Dinh Xuan Ngoc, buffalo number 01 of Mr. Hoang Gia Thom and buffalo number 10 of Mr. Hoang Gia Huyen.
According to information from the Festival Organizing Committee, after the first physical inspection, buffalo No. 15 is 1.59 m tall (only 1 cm behind the leading buffalo No. 16 in height), 2.5 m long, 2.5 m in breast, about 0.38 m high, about 0.8 m wide. Buffalo No. 15 has the characteristics of 1 cage of 4 clubs, black skin, red eyes, boy tail, and clam nails.
Not outstanding in height, buffalo No. 01 bought by the Thom Dynasty from Thailand leads in the coronation index, especially the width of the horns among 16 buffaloes. Specifically, buffalo No. 01 is 1.56 m tall, with a length and chest of 2.4 m, a height of about 0.6 m, and a width of up to 1 m. Buffalo No. 01 has 1 compartment, 2 claws, all with black skin, red eyes, tail, and clams.
The "foreign imported" buffalo No. 10 has the length and largest chest around its opponents at 2.52 m. Other indicators are also relatively high such as height 1.52 m, height of about 0.32 m, width of about 0.76 m, 4 general warts, 1 compartment, black skin, tail, clam nam.
Along with 3 buffaloes entering abroad, 13 domestic buffaloes are not inferior in physical strength. This year, buffalo owner Luu Dinh Khang, who has the buffalo champion in the 2024 festival season, also has the buffalo participating as buffalo number 03. The 03-year-old buffalo was purchased from the West of Hai Phong (old Hai Duong) from 2024 with an height index of 1.52 m, length, chest circumference of 2.4 m, height of about 0.43 m, width of 0.84 m with the characteristics of 2 compartments of 4 clubs, black skin, red eyes, tail, and clams.
Meanwhile, buffalo No. 04 won the 2024 championship in height (1.58 m), outstanding length 2.3 m, breast 2.38 m, height 0.52 m, width 0.68 m.
Carefully prepare facilities for the festival
According to the plan, the 2025 Do Son buffalo fighting festival will take place on September 30 (ie the 9th day of the 8th lunar month) at the Do Son Ward Central Stadium. Do Son Ward also plans to organize sideline activities, promote the strengths of Do Son's sea and island tourism, contact travel companies to organize tours, tour routes... to attract a large number of domestic and international tourists to Do Son on this occasion.
To ensure the festival is safe, on August 27, the Organizing Committee of the Do Son Traditional Buffalo Fighting Festival directly inspected the health, physical condition and quality of the 16 "buffaloes" participating for the first time and continued to inspect the second time on September 10. This is an important step to select healthy " buffaloes" that meet standards, are brave enough, and ready to enter the big festival. The buffalo inspection not only ensures fairness and objectivity but also demonstrates the careful preparation of the Organizing Committee, contributing to affirming the prestige, brand and unique cultural values of the Do Son Traditional Buffalo fighting Festival.
The Organizing Committee also inspected the preparation work at the Central Stadium - where the Festival will take place. The stadium is comprehensively inspected and reviewed from the stands, the stadium to the fence system, walkways and auxiliary works. Environmental sanitation and renovation work will continue to be implemented in the coming days to keep up with progress and ensure the best conditions for the festival.
