On March 26, at FLC Quy Nhon, the Vietnam Television Center for the Central - Central Highlands region (VTV8) organized a seminar with the theme: Connecting, promoting culture, heritage, history and tourism.
The conference had about 140 delegates from 54 units (experts, representatives of newspapers and radio - television stations, Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of localities, media companies, media equipment...) attending and discussing.
Journalist Nguyen Lam Thanh - Director of Vietnam Television Center for the Central - Central Highlands region (VTV8) said: "The conference is not just an academic or purely media event. This is a'stopover' for managers, experts, businesses and cultural workers to sit down together and find their touches.

That is the connection between tradition and modernity, how to bring technology and television to bring heritage closer to young people; connecting regions, turning the unique strengths of each locality into a continuous journey of experience for tourists; and at the same time connecting culture and economy, to promote heritage not only as preservation but also as creating surplus value, promoting green economy and sustainable development”.
Delegates at the conference participated in giving opinions, contributing to recounting creative tourism stories using digital technology and television; to make tourism stories more vivid and become a driving force for sustainable tourism development.
Representatives of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Gia Lai province said that in 2026, the province is honored to host the National Tourism Year. Media coordination with press agencies is an important factor to contribute to introducing and promoting the image, people, history, and culture of the new Gia Lai land after the merger.

After the merger, Gia Lai is the second largest province in the country, with majestic natural landscapes of mountains and forests with the charm of the sea and islands, and also possesses outstanding ecological and cultural values such as: Bien Ho, Chu Dang Ya volcano, Kon Ka Kinh National Park (ASEAN Heritage Park), and the Central Highlands Gong Cultural Space.
At the same time, the province has a system of Cham Pa cultural relics; Bai Choi art recognized by UNESCO in 2017; Hat Boi; Binh Dinh traditional martial arts; and a 134 km long coastline with famous scenic spots such as: Quy Nhon Bay, Ky Co, Eo Gio, Cu Lao Xanh, Thi Nai Lagoon...
These values create a comprehensive, diverse and rare tourism ecosystem: sea - mountains - culture - history - science - cuisine - festivals, both complementing and expanding the experience space of tourists. These are great potentials with unique characteristics for tourism development.
Gia Lai province identifies the period 2026 - 2030, tourism is one of the five pillars of economic development of the province. The goal by 2030 is to welcome 18.5 million visitors/year, including more than 1 million international visitors.
The activities of the National Tourism Year - Gia Lai 2026 will contribute to promoting the development of domestic and international tourist markets, strengthening promotion and advertising, affirming the Vietnamese tourism brand in general and Gia Lai in particular on the tourism map.
