Can Tho has 4 national treasures

Can Tho - On the afternoon of November 19, Can Tho City Museum held a meeting to celebrate Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day 2024 and received artifacts donated by individuals.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City Truong Cong Quoc Viet informed that Can Tho currently has 4 national treasures; 38 ranked historical and cultural relics; 6 intangible cultural heritages included in the national list by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Mr. Truong Cong Quoc Viet said that Can Tho City Museum has been doing a good job in managing, preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritage, especially recently the Museum has taken on the additional task of managing and promoting the Hung King Temple in Can Tho City.

Through the event, the Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City hopes that organizations and individuals - heritage lovers, will encourage all social classes to actively participate in the cause of preserving and promoting the value of national cultural heritage; contributing to enriching existing collections for research and display.

In 2024, the Museum will organize the collection and socialization of nearly 200 valuable documents and artifacts, rich in types... contributing to the preservation and promotion of the nation's cultural heritage. Especially the relics from the period of resistance against American imperialism on the battlefields of Can Tho and the South.
