About rain
Lai Chau, Ha Giang, Son La, Lao Cai provinces will have heavy to very heavy rain from 50-150mm (from 10:00/08.6, the rain has decreased); some heavy rain stations such as:
Lai Chau: Muong Khoa 272mm, Ta Leng 196mm, Nam Loong 195mm.
Ha Giang: Tan Lap 267mm, Tam Duong 160mm, Nung Nang 159mm.
Son La: Muong leo 145mm, Chieng Muon 96mm.
Lao Cai: Seo Chong Ho 125mm, Ta Van 114mm.
Regarding damage
According to reports and information via phone, heavy rain has caused damage in Lai Chau, Ha Giang, Lao Cai provinces as follows:
- Regarding people: 02 dead, missing, specifically: 01 person died due to lightning in Ha Giang (Mr. Lau Mi Chinh, born in 1978, residing in Po Ma village, Khau Vai, Meo Vac district); 01 person missing due to flood in Lao Cai (Mr. Vuong Duc Hung; born in 1994; residing in Na Khui group, Muong Khuong town, Muong Khuong ward).
- Regarding housing: 138 houses were flooded, damaged in Lai Chau (01 houses collapsed, 02 houses damaged; 135 houses were flooded).
- Regarding agriculture: 110.54ha of rice and crops were flooded and damaged (Lao Cai: 03ha; Lai Chau: 107.54ha); 56.2ha of fish ponds were damaged (Lai Chau); 700 livestock and poultry died (Lai Chau).
- Regarding irrigation: 450m of irrigation canals are buried and eroded (Lai Chau).
- Regarding traffic: 17,400m3 of rock and soil were eroded at many points on some roads in Lai Chau.
Son La province is reviewing and assessing the damage.
