On October 1, information from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Cao Bang province, the unit has just coordinated with the Department of Hydrometeorology to organize the Ceremony to attach a sign to recognize the Cao Bang Meteorological Station with over 100 years of operation.
This is a meaningful event in a series of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam Hydrometeorological Industry (October 3, 1945 - October 3, 2025) and the 75th anniversary of the Liberation of Cao Bang.
Cao Bang Meteorological Station was established in 1898, one of the first 6 meteorological stations in Vietnam as well as the three Indochinese countries.
Over the past century, the station has witnessed many important historical periods, from the resistance war against France, the war against the US to the border war of 1979.

In difficult circumstances, with fierce bombs and bullets, station staff are still steadfastly sticking to and maintaining monitoring data to serve the work of forecasting and warning of natural disasters, contributing to protecting the safety of people's lives and property.
Today, Cao Bang Meteorological Station is equipped with many modern equipment, automatic monitoring systems, improving data quality to serve socio-economic development, resource management and climate change response.
The sign-attaching ceremony is a recognition and gratitude for the contributions of many generations of cadres who have devoted themselves to "going to heaven" at the border, while affirming the station's important position in the development of the hydrometeorological industry nationwide.
This event is not only the pride of the industry but also of Cao Bang province, creating motivation for the station's staff to continue promoting tradition, innovation, applying technology, and completing their tasks well.
