On June 1, Kenh 7 Prison, Department C10, Ministry of Public Security held a ceremony to announce the President's 2026 amnesty decision for 108 prisoners serving prison sentences at the unit.
The ceremony took place solemnly, showing the lenient and humanitarian policy of the Party and State towards criminals who know repentance, actively study, work, and improve. This is also a great source of encouragement for inmates who are continuing to serve their sentences, helping them have more faith, determination to correct their mistakes, and strive to soon enjoy the lenient policy.

Among the 108 inmates granted amnesty, the inmate with the highest remaining sentence is P.V. M (born 1984), residing in Ho Chi Minh City, who committed the crime of "Fraudulent appropriation of property", with the remaining sentence being 5 years 5 months 26 days.
Over the past time, Kenh 7 Prison has always identified the work of educating and reforming prisoners as a key task. The unit focuses on political, legal, ethical, and lifestyle education; organizing labor, vocational training, and life skills training; and at the same time, paying attention to counseling, encouraging, and helping prisoners stabilize their thoughts, clearly recognize their wrongdoings, and have the right direction for striving.
Through legal study sessions, group and team activities, emulation movements for sentence execution and the process of labor reform, many prisoners have had positive changes in awareness, attitude, discipline awareness and responsibility to family and society. Education and reform work at Kenh 7 Prison is carried out strictly but humanely, aiming to help sentence executors correct their mistakes and prepare conditions for community reintegration.

Speaking at the ceremony, Colonel Ta Duc Hoan, Warden of Canal 7 Prison, emphasized: Special amnesty is a special leniency policy of the State, showing the humanitarian tradition of the nation and opening up opportunities for wrongdoers to repent.
Colonel Ta Duc Hoan requested that prisoners granted amnesty after returning to their localities should strictly comply with the law, actively work, stabilize their lives, stay away from illegal acts, and strive to become useful people for their families and society.
For the remaining prisoners, Colonel Ta Duc Hoan encouraged them to continue to reform with peace of mind, strictly comply with the regulations of the detention facility, actively study, work, cultivate morality, overcome the consequences caused by criminal acts, and see cases of amnesty as a role model to strive to rise up.
Mr. T.V. T (born 1985), residing in Can Tho city, representative of the specially pardoned prisoner, expressed his emotion and gratitude to the Party, State, President and the Board of Directors of Kenh 7 Prison; and promised that after returning to his locality, he would strictly comply with the law, actively work, not re-offend, and live responsibly with his family and society.
The announcement ceremony of the 2026 amnesty decision at Kenh 7 Prison not only opened up the opportunity to rebuild the lives of 108 prisoners, but also contributed to spreading the humanistic values of the amnesty policy, affirming the effectiveness of education, reform of prisoners and the goal of orientation towards goodness and community reintegration.
