On the morning of October 13, in Ca No hamlet, Tan Hung commune, Tay Ninh province, a landslide occurred under the sewers across the dike, causing strong overflow, threatening dozens of hectares of newly sown winter-spring rice.
According to local people, at around 4am the same day, the water level outside the canal 1/5 rose, creating great pressure to erode the underground sewers across the embankment of the east bank. This is a dike combined with rural roads that has been invested in by the State. Under the pressure of strong water flows, the soil in the sewers is dug up, and water quickly overflows into the agricultural land area.
Fortunately, the landslide area has not been sown for the winter-spring rice crop; however, the neighboring Group 1 area with more than 80 hectares of winter-spring rice in 2025 - 2026 has just been sown for a few days, facing the risk of flooding if water overflows into the fields.
According to Mr. Phan Hoa Nong - Chairman of Tan Hung Commune People's Committee, immediately after the incident, Tan Hung Commune authorities mobilized militia, police and local people to quickly arrive to fix the problem. The forces used cajuput trees, soil bags, tarpaulins and machinery and equipment to close the sewers outside the canal, preventing water from continuing to flood into the fields.
Thanks to the urgent coordination and efforts of the forces, by noon of the same day, the sewer mouth had been temporarily closed, minimizing the risk of flooding, and protecting the safety of the winter-spring rice area in Group 1 area.

In addition to the above incident, from October 10 to now, due to the impact of prolonged heavy rain combined with water from the upper Mekong River flowing in, the dike overflows and local flooding in some agricultural production areas in Vinh Chau, Vinh Thanh, Hung Dien communes, Tay Ninh province. To respond promptly, localities have mobilized militia forces to coordinate with the people to overcome the incident.
In Hung Dien commune, a dike section of more than 2km long was flooded by rising floodwaters. The Hung Dien Commune Military Command promptly mobilized 30 officers, soldiers and tools to transport soil to reinforce the dike. Determined not to let the rising water inundate the people's crops, hundreds of cubic meters of soil were transported by soldiers in time to successfully prevent the dike overflow incident. In addition, many field pumps are deployed to pump water out of the dike area.
In Vinh Chau commune, many areas with flower growing with an area of over 200 hectares of rice and fruit trees are also threatened by rapidly rising floodwaters. The Vinh Chau Commune Military Command quickly sent forces to vulnerable locations to reinforce the dike to prevent dike breaches.
In Vinh Thanh commune, more than 14 hectares of rice were deeply submerged in water. The militia, police and people have taken advantage of the harvest. After more than 2 days of actively racing against floodwaters, more than 2 hectares of rice have been brought safely to shore by the forces.
