On the afternoon of April 23, the Department of Health of Gia Lai province said that regarding the accident of a school bus in Chu Prong district, 16 students with stable health conditions have been discharged from the hospital.
The remaining 5 patients, including 4 students and 1 driver, are continuing to be monitored and treated at medical facilities in the province.
Hospitals such as Hoang Anh Gia Lai University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, Hung Vuong Gia Lai Hospital and Provincial General Hospital have actively treated. In particular, there were some cases requiring surgery due to broken arms, broken legs, multiple injuries and bleeding.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reported that at around 6:10 a.m. on April 22, a 30-seat school bus with license plate 81F-001.88 driven by Phan Dinh Du (born in 1968, residing in Binh Giao Commune, Chu Prong District) was traveling from Duc Co District to Pleiku City.
The vehicle was carrying about 20 secondary and high school students from Chu Prong district. When reaching Km 200+700 on National Highway 19, the vehicle suddenly lost control, crashed into the sidewalk and fell into the premises of a household about 5m below the road surface.
The car only stopped when it hit a house entrance and overturned. The accident injured 3 people in the head, 2 people in the hand, and many other students who were scratched by impacting broken glass.
Immediately after the accident, local people quickly helped take the victims to medical facilities for emergency care.
