At about 6:10 a.m. on January 6, on the Cao Bo - Mai Son expressway (Km 264+500) in the Nam Binh bridge area (in Ninh Phuc commune, Hoa Lu city, Ninh Binh province), a serious traffic accident occurred.
At the above time, the sleeper bus with license plate 43H-057.79, driven by Le Ngoc Tinh (born in 1980, residing in Thanh Hoa province), collided with the tractor 29K-016.34, pulling a semi-trailer 29RM-003.38, driven by Vu Nam Binh (born in 1982, residing in Thanh Hoa province), in the direction of Ninh Binh - Hanoi.
The accident left dozens of people injured.
Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department, Ninh Binh Provincial Police mobilized 3 specialized vehicles, along with 18 officers and soldiers to the scene to organize rescue.
At the scene, the sleeper bus had a dented front end, the bus driver was trapped in the cabin and many passengers on the bus were injured.
Ninh Binh Provincial Police Hospital and the provincial 115 Emergency Center dispatched ambulances and medical teams to the scene, coordinating with functional forces to take 16 injured cases to medical facilities for emergency treatment.
According to information from Ninh Binh General Hospital, among the cases brought to the emergency room there was 1 seriously injured person who was transferred to a higher-level hospital for treatment.
The cause of the accident is being investigated by authorities.
