In late July, according to the reporter's records, in Son La province, there are many traffic routes in mountainous communes such as Ta Xua, Nam Lau, Chieng Hoa, Chieng Hac, Suoi To... that have seriously degraded.
In Nam Lau commune, the inter-commune road is 13km long. In recent years, in the rainy season, mud was inundated with mud, and in the dry season, dust was everywhere. Moreover, during the rainy season, there is often a phenomenon of rocks and soil overflowing onto the road, forcing people to walk and carry their vehicles through muddy sections, calling this a "forgotten road".

"Every time, the rain continues, the road is covered with mud, in some places the mud is up to the knees. Many people have to carry their vehicles through slippery sections, or install chains on tires to make it easier to move, but it is still very difficult - Mr. Ca Van Tinh, a resident of Tong village - shared.

The old inter-commune road connecting Chieng Hoa - Chieng An commune with a total length of 11km is also in a state of serious damage.
Soil, rocks and water from the positive slope overflowed onto the road, posing many potential dangers to traffic participants.
Mr. Cu A Trung, residing in Nong Hoi village, said that this is the only route leading to 6 highland villages of Chieng Hoa commune.
"During the rainy season, trucks cannot move, construction materials and goods must be taken on small trips. Commodities are increased in price when brought to the village, but agricultural products are discounted because of additional transportation fees, and people have suffered for many years" - Mr. Duynh shared.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Cong - Vice Chairman of Chieng Hoa Commune People's Committee said that the road has been in use for nearly 20 years. Long slopes and steep slopes; weak roadbed; flood water often causes erosion, causing the road to deteriorate rapidly.
"We hope that competent authorities will soon have a plan and capital to repair and upgrade to help people travel and trade more conveniently" - Mr. Cong said.

Similarly, the road from Ta Xua commune to the old Hang Dong commune is also in a state of serious degradation, making it difficult for people to travel.
This is the only route leading to the "dinosaur spine" area, terraced fields and some outstanding tourist attractions of Son La province. However, the road is now seriously degraded, many sections of the road are buried with rocks and soil, flooded, and it is very difficult to move when it rains.
"Tourists who want to go to Hang Dong to visit places are also afraid, because the road is too difficult to travel. Many groups of tourists have to return to the middle of the road because vehicles cannot get through steep, slippery sections" - Mr. Vang A Dua - a resident of Hang Dong commune said.

The inter-commune road of nearly 20km from Phu Yen to Suoi To commune has also been eroded and severely damaged for many years.
Suffering the same fate, the route from the center of Chieng Hac commune to the old Muong Lam commune is 15km long, but it takes nearly 2 hours to travel from Chieng Hac commune to the center of the old Muong Lam commune, because the road surface is slippery, the rocks and soil are eroded, and many deep holes when it rains.

The degraded inter-commune roads in the Son La highlands are not only a barrier to socio-economic development but also a constant risk to traffic safety, greatly affecting people's lives.
The biggest wish of the people at this time is that the roads will be quickly invested, repaired, and upgraded so that travel and trade of goods is no longer a concern about "poor roads".
