Son La - Heavy rain caused serious landslides on National Highway 4G from Song Ma commune to Sop Cop commune, causing many sections of the road to be cut off and traffic paralyzed.

According to Lao Dong Newspaper reporters on the morning of July 27, many sections of the road had a large amount of rock and soil from the positive slope pouring onto the road, dragging away trees and mud, causing complete congestion on the main traffic route connecting Song Ma commune - Sop Cop commune (Son La).

The cause was determined to be due to heavy rain lasting from noon on July 26 to the morning of July 27 along with the soil moisture in the area that has been saturated for many days, causing the terrain structure to be unstable, leading to landslides.

Fortunately, the incident did not cause any human casualties, but seriously affected the travel and transportation of goods by people in the area.

As soon as the information was received, this morning the locality mobilized local forces to coordinate with the road management unit to conduct warnings, put up warning signs and urgently bring machinery to the scene to handle the landslide site.

Currently, the repair work is being urgently deployed, the authorities will make efforts to basically reopen the route by noon on July 27 to soon restore travel for people.
