Ho Chi Minh City organizes one-way traffic on Cach Mang Thang Tam and Nguyen Thi Minh Khai streets to construct Tao Dan station on Metro Line 2 (Ben Thanh - Tham Luong).

On September 15, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction announced that it had agreed on a plan to adjust traffic organization to serve the construction of ST2 station (Tao Dan station) and ST7 station (Bay Hien station) belonging to Metro Line 2 project.

Cach Mang Thang Tam street, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai organized one-way traffic to construct Tao Dan station

At ST2 station (Tao Dan station), the construction site is located on Cach Mang Thang Tam street, the area from Nguyen Du street to Nguyen Thi Minh Khai street.

In the 4 main construction phases, the road surface will be divided to both serve the construction site and maintain traffic. The road section for vehicles to run has a minimum width of 7.5 - 10.8m, depending on the stage.

Notably, Cach Mang Thang Tam street section from Nguyen Du to Nguyen Thi Minh Khai will organize one-way traffic for all types of vehicles, in the direction from Nguyen Du to Nguyen Thi Minh Khai.

Vehicles that need to go in the opposite direction will be guided according to alternative routes: Cach Mang Thang Tam - Nguyen Thi Minh Khai - Huyen Tran Cong Chua - Thu Khoa Huan - Le Thanh Ton - Pham Hong Thai - Cach Mang Thang Tam.

At the same time, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai street section from Cao Thang to Huyen Tran Cong Chua is also organized for one-way traffic, in the direction from Cao Thang to Huyen Tran Cong Chua.

The alternative route for vehicles is organized in the direction of Truong Dinh - Vo Van Tan (or Nguyen Dinh Chieu) - Cao Thang - Nguyen Thi Minh Khai.

Meanwhile, Suong Nguyet Anh and Bui Thi Xuan streets are organized for two-way traffic to support regional traffic connection.

The construction time of Tao Dan station is expected to be 1,219 days, equivalent to more than 3 years.

Bay Hien station affects both Cach Mang Thang Tam and Truong Chinh streets

At ST7 station (Bay Hien station), the construction area is located on Cach Mang Thang Tam street and Truong Chinh street, with many phases of deploying fences, temporary floors, bypasses and the main structure of the station.

In the initial phase, on Cach Mang Thang Tam street, the construction site area occupies a section of about 180m long. The remaining road for traffic is at least 8m wide, arranged with 2 lanes.

On Truong Chinh street, the occupation area is about 200m long. The road for vehicles to circulate is about 13m wide in the early stages.

Truong Chinh street will be organized for one-way traffic in the direction from Xuan Hong street to Cach Mang Thang Tam street.

In the following phases, the road section for vehicles circulating on Truong Chinh will be adjusted to a minimum of 7.5m, but still maintained one-way in the direction from Xuan Hong to Cach Mang Thang Tam.

On Cach Mang Thang Tam street, vehicles are arranged in 2 lanes in the direction from Ben Thanh to Tham Luong, with a minimum width of about 7.5m.

Notably, at the Truong Chinh - Cach Mang Thang Tam - Ly Thuong Kiet - Hoang Van Thu intersection, the traffic organization plan will be changed to serve the Bay Hien station construction site.

Accordingly, vehicles from Truong Chinh street are not allowed to go straight through Cach Mang Thang Tam street.

Vehicles from Truong Chinh are only allowed to turn right into Ly Thuong Kiet street and turn left into Hoang Van Thu street.

Meanwhile, vehicles from Cach Mang Thang Tam must turn right onto Hoang Van Thu street when reaching this intersection.

The construction time of Bay Hien station is expected to be 1,257 days, equivalent to about 3.4 years.

The time to start organizing traffic has not been announced by functional agencies.

The Department of Construction requests the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Management Board to coordinate with relevant units and People's Committees of Hoa Hung, Nhieu Loc, and Tan Son Nhat wards to install traffic signs and divert traffic before deployment. Announcement banners must be installed at least 7 days in advance.

Metro No. 2 (Ben Thanh - Tham Luong) was started in January 2026, with a total investment of more than 55,000 billion VND, using city budget capital.

The metro line is nearly 11.27 km long, of which about 9.3 km is underground and about 2 km is elevated. The entire line includes 10 underground stations, 1 elevated station and a depot in Tham Luong.

Metro line No. 2 is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2030.
