At about 19h on April 12, a unexpected forest fire occurred in sub -area 291 in the territory of Binh Lieu town, Binh Lieu district. After that, the fire spread to about 25 hectares of acacia forest and vegetation.
According to reports from local authorities, the area has many trees that were broken after Typhoon Yagi in September 2024.
As soon as the news was received, the People's Committee of Binh Lieu district and the town government mobilized forces, vehicles and hundreds of local people to put out the fire, creating runways to prevent the fire from spreading to other forest areas.
However, due to the harsh terrain and strong winds, extinguishing the fire encountered many difficulties...
Meanwhile, at around 9pm the same day, another forest fire broke out in the Dai Yen hill area, Dai Yen ward, Ha Long city, located right on National Highway 18.
After only a few minutes, the fire spread. Despite being active by the people and fire forces as soon as the forest fire was discovered, the hill was still red because of the fire. At about 22h, the fire spread to the area of the houses, causing the risk of fire spread to the residential area. Firefighters and people had to use all measures to prevent fire from spreading into the house.
By 0:30 on the morning of April 13, the fire was reduced in intensity and controlled.
There are currently no statistics on the two forest fires.
