The People's Committee of Quang Ninh province has just issued a decision approving the adjustment of the investment policy for the project to expand road 334, from Ao Tien golf course to the intersection between road 334 and the road to Van Don complex park.
Provincial Road 334 is considered an important backbone connecting the chain of urban areas, works, projects, developed tourism products... in Van Don Special Zone.
The project to expand road 334, the section from Ao Tien golf course to the intersection between road 334 and the road to Van Don complex park, with a total length of 9.5km, a wide roadbed of 24-44m, designed with 6 lanes, started in May 2021 but the construction progress is very slow.
According to the decision approving the adjustment of the investment policy of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province, the total investment of the project was initially approved at 1,490 billion VND, adjusted to 2,190 billion VND.
The project implementation period was also adjusted to 2026, after 2 adjustments, in which the initial approved period was 2021-2024 and then adjusted to August 31, 2025.
Reasons for adjustment: The arising increase in site clearance costs within the overall approved project site scope leads to the need to adjust the investment policy.
The project to expand Road 334, the section from Ao Tien Golf Course to the intersection between Road 334 and the road to Van Don Complex Park, was started in May 2021.
However, the construction progress is very slow due to many reasons, including site clearance, affecting both investment projects in the area and surrounding people.
It is known that to expand Provincial Road 334, the local government must reclaim about 42.13 hectares, including: Land for traffic routes of 17.36 hectares, land of households and organizations that must carry out site clearance of 24.77 hectares, directly related to 451 households and organizations.
Road 334, the section from Ao Tien Golf Course to the intersection between Road 334 and the road to Van Don Complex Park after being expanded, is expected to be a new, synchronous traffic axis, connecting functional subdivisions, urban areas, tourist areas, a driving force to attract investment, promote land space, promote the development of Van Don Economic Zone...
Along this section of the road running along the shore of Bai Tu Long Bay, there have been many projects with great motivation, including the high-end complex tourism service area project with casino with a minimum investment capital of 2 billion USD, which has just been approved by the Prime Minister.
At the beginning of the route is the High-end Resort - Entertainment Tourism Complex Project, Golf Course and Residential Area of Monbay Van Don, with a total investment of about 1 billion USD.
Located on this road is also Sonasea Van Don Harbor City Resort Complex, which has been put into operation.
