3 projects connecting Long Thanh airport are slow to cut down rubber trees

HÀ ANH CHIẾN |

Dong Nai - 3 transport projects connecting Long Thanh airport, about 110km long, are slow to cut down rubber trees, making the construction site look like leopards, making it difficult to access the construction site.

On September 5, according to the Dong Nai City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, to date, many rubber tree areas have been paid compensation but have not been cut down, affecting the construction progress of 3 traffic projects connecting Long Thanh airport.

Previously, on July 10, three transportation projects connecting Long Thanh airport including: Project to upgrade and expand road 769; project to upgrade and expand road 773; road 770 construction project simultaneously started construction.

To implement these projects, functional sectors need to recover nearly 630ha of land, including hundreds of hectares of rubber land managed by businesses.

The 770B road construction project needs to recover nearly 270 hectares of land, including nearly 105 hectares of rubber tree land of Dong Nai Rubber Corporation. The project to expand and upgrade road 773 needs to recover nearly 225 hectares of land, including nearly 63 hectares of rubber land of Dong Nai Rubber Corporation. Up to now, communes and wards with the above 2 projects passing through have issued land recovery decisions, and the Dong Nai City Land Fund Development Center has completed the payment of rubber land compensation according to regulations. However, relevant units have not yet carried out liquidation and cutting of rubber within the project area.

Regarding the project to upgrade and expand road 769 (needing to recover more than 135 hectares of land), currently the Dong Nai City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board has received the handover of dozens of hectares of land in Dau Giay, Long Thanh wards and Binh An commune. However, due to many areas of rubber trees not being cut, the ground is scarred, not continuous, and construction vehicles have difficulty accessing the construction site.

To speed up the project construction progress, the Dong Nai City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board proposed that relevant units strengthen coordination, carry out rubber tree cutting and hand over land to serve 3 projects in September 2026.

The three transportation projects connecting Long Thanh airport have a total length of more than 110km, all of which are key projects of Dong Nai City serving the connection of localities with Long Thanh airport.

According to the plan, 3 transportation projects connecting Long Thanh airport will be completed in 2027 and 2028.
