Expanding Hanoi Highway and National Highway 1
The project to expand Hanoi Highway and National Highway 1, 15.7km long from Saigon Bridge to Tan Van Intersection, was started in April 2010 under the BOT form.
The project is divided into 3 sections, with an expanded scale of 12 to 16 lanes. Currently, section 1 (Saigon - Binh Thai bridge) and section 2 (Binh Thai - Station 2 intersection) have been basically completed.
However, section 3 from Station 2 to Tan Van, especially the section passing through Binh Duong province, is still unfinished due to incomplete site clearance.

In Binh Duong, out of a total of 201 affected households, only 55 households (about 5.5ha) have been compensated, while 146 households (11.5ha) have not yet been resolved because Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong have not yet agreed on a compensation unit price.
This has caused the section from Tan Van intersection to the new Mien Dong bus station to become a "bottleneck", often deteriorating, affecting traffic.
My Thuy intersection
Started in 2016, the My Thuy intersection project (Thu Duc City) is divided into 3 phases with a total investment of more than VND 3,400 billion.
After nearly a decade of implementation, some items such as the overpass on Vo Chi Cong Street, the left underpass to Cat Lai, My Thuy 3 Bridge and Ky Ha 3 Bridge have been completed.

However, the project has not yet been completed due to problems in site clearance.
Of the total 195 affected households, Thu Duc City has approved compensation plans for 182 households, but there are still 72 records that have not been handed over, accounting for nearly 37% of the area to be recovered.
The main reasons are land disputes, border overlaps, administrative complaints or unallocated resettlement plots.
Thu Duc City aims to complete site clearance in the second quarter of 2025 so that the project can be completed in April 2026.
An Phu intersection
The An Phu Intersection Project (Thu Duc City) started construction at the end of 2022 with a total investment of more than VND 3,400 billion.
According to the plan, the project will be completed in April 2025. However, due to land clearance problems, the progress has been delayed until the end of 2025 and the possibility of finishing on time is still uncertain.

After more than two years of construction, the project has reached about 65% of the total volume.
One of the biggest problems is the area at the beginning of Luong Dinh Cua Street - where there are 22,000m2 of land that need to be reclaimed but overlaps with the An Phu urban area project (scale of 88.03ha). Currently, Ho Chi Minh City has not yet finalized a solution.
Expanding National Highway 50
The National Highway 50 expansion project (Binh Chanh District) has a total length of nearly 7km, with an investment capital of 1,500 billion VND. The project includes expanding the main route to 6 lanes and building more than 4km of parallel roads.
Although the parallel road section is targeted to be opened to traffic in 2024 and the entire route will be completed in 2025, so far only about 2km of parallel road from Trinh Quang Nghi Street to National Highway 50 has been put into use.

The main reason is the delay in site clearance due to the Binh Chanh District People's Committee being the investor.
As of early April 2025, the project is still stuck with the site clearance of 2 households with a total area of nearly 900m2.
If fully handed over in April, the parallel road section can be completed in September 2025, while the main route of National Highway 50 is expected to be completed in December 2025.
