On March 19, the Son La Provincial Election Commission held a conference to announce the election results and the list of 55 people elected as delegates of the 16th Provincial People's Council, term 2026-2031.
At the conference, delegates listened to the announcement of the election results of the Provincial People's Council deputies; the Resolution of the Provincial Election Committee and the list of winning candidates according to regulations.
According to the report of the Provincial Election Commission, the whole province had 915,088 voters, of which 912,514 voters participated in voting, reaching a rate of 99.72%. All voting areas were completed in accordance with regulations, no units had to re-elect, elect more, or cancel results. 75/75 communes and wards had over 90% of voters voting, of which 32 communes and wards reached 100%.
As a result, Son La province elected 9 National Assembly deputies and 55 Provincial People's Council deputies according to the law. For commune-level People's Councils, 1,617/1,619 deputies were elected.
Among the elected delegates of the Provincial People's Council, the person with the highest percentage of votes reached 98.75%, and the lowest reached 79.07%.

The list of elected delegates ensures a reasonable structure, including key leaders of the province, representatives of Party agencies, government, armed forces and officials in the fields of education, health, science, businesses, and grassroots levels.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Viet, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Election Committee, affirmed that the election was organized democratically, in accordance with the law, safely, economically, and was truly a festival for the whole people.
The Provincial Election Commission requested elected delegates to promote responsibility, wisdom, represent the will and aspirations of the people, contributing to building Son La for sustainable development.
