In recent years, the population on both sides of National Highway 32C, about 1.5 km long from Cam Khe town to IC10 Intersection of Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway (Sai Nga Intersection), has become densely populated, the road corridor has narrowed, while the number of vehicles is increasing.
To ensure traffic safety and upgrade the appearance of the northern gateway road of this town, Cam Khe district has implemented a project on sidewalks, roads, drainage ditches, and lighting systems from Dao Ngoc intersection to IC10 Intersection of Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway (section Km43 - Km44+500).
This project has a total investment of more than 56 billion VND, with the Cam Khe District Construction Investment Project Management Board as the project investor. The estimated construction value for each cost item is more than 30.8 billion VND. Of which, the construction cost is nearly 24 billion VND, the rest is contingency cost and other costs.
According to a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper on February 11, many households living along the project route have demolished gates, fences, and structures to hand over land to the contractor for construction.
It can be seen that the contractor has mobilized machinery, equipment and human resources to construct the drainage system along the route, and spread crushed stone on the road. Some sections at the beginning and end of the route have completed the pavement.
According to the design documents, the Department of Transport of Phu Tho province will invest in expanding the road surface to ensure a width of 13 m with asphalt concrete structure, 17.5 m wide roadbed. Meanwhile, Cam Khe district will invest in completing the sidewalk, drainage ditch and public lighting system.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Quang - a resident of Son Ha area, Cam Khe town - said: "When the State started implementing the project, my family demolished the walls and corrugated iron roofs along the road. I think the construction project will help the landscape of the road connecting the town to the IC10 Interchange of Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway become spacious, clean, and ensure traffic safety."
According to the report of the Project Management Board for Investment and Construction in Cam Khe district, up to now, the volume of work on the project of sidewalks, roads, drainage ditches, and lighting systems from Dao Ngoc intersection to IC10 Intersection of Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway (section Km43 - Km44+500) has reached about 85%.
Regarding site clearance, out of more than 200 affected households, up to now only 5 households are stuck because they have not agreed to remove violations of the road corridor, and 1 household has not agreed to the compensation plan.
