The Hanoi Employment Service Center has just informed about the situation of workers receiving unemployment benefits in April 2025 in the area. Accordingly, the number of people with decisions to receive unemployment benefits increased significantly compared to previous months.
In April 2025, the Hanoi Employment Service Center (Center) received 7,297 applications for unemployment insurance (UI), an increase of 2.3 thousand cases compared to the previous month and an increase of 816 cases compared to the same period last year.
Appraised and issued decisions to receive unemployment benefits for 6,175 cases, an increase of 1,740 records compared to the previous month and an increase of 727 records compared to the same period in 2024 with a total support amount of 223.6 billion VND.
Of which, from April 22-21, 2025, there were 5,013 unemployment benefit application files submitted through the National Public Service Portal, with 3,693 files eligible for consideration and settlement.
The center has consulted and supported job search for over 3.6 thousand workers, and supported vocational training for 93 people with an amount of 359.2 million VND.
With outstanding advantages, the unemployment insurance policy has become an important support, actively supporting workers in difficult times, contributing to ensuring social security for workers through financial support measures, job counseling for unemployed workers and training support, and skills improvement. Thereby, helping workers return to the market soon.
However, the Center said that the number of workers receiving unemployment benefits in April increased sharply, reflecting the fact that a part of workers still face difficulties in the process of reintegrating into the labor market.
