On July 29, in Pleiku ward, the People's Committee of Gia Lai province held a conference to assign targets and tasks to 77 communes and wards in the western area of the province.
Accordingly, the assignment of targets to 58 communes and wards in the eastern area of the province (formerly belonging to the old Binh Dinh province) has been organized by the Provincial People's Committee since 2023 and has basically become stable and orderly.
For 77 communes and wards in the western area of the province, this is the first time that the allocation of main targets on socio-economic development and key tasks has been organized.
This is both a challenge and an opportunity for localities to demonstrate their dynamism, creativity and determination to rise up, focusing on innovating the way of direction and management, associated with the responsibility of the leaders.
Regarding the assignment of key tasks to 77 communes and wards, it is divided into two main groups. The first group is inclusive, including: ensuring stable organization and smooth operation of the new commune-level government apparatus; ensuring facilities at the Public Administration Service Center; Establishing a Project Management Board to promptly provide public career services in the area...

The second group, communes and wards focus on key sectors and fields, directly contributing to the growth and development of each locality in particular and the province in general, such as: agriculture, industry and construction, trade, services, tourism; planning; compensation, site clearance; sustainable poverty reduction; maintaining national defense and security.
Based on the assigned planning targets, the People's Committees of communes and wards urgently complete the development of socio-economic development scenarios, identify key tasks and solutions, and implement them quarterly.
In particular, the targets according to the local growth scenario must not be lower than the targets assigned by the Provincial People's Committee.
The commune and ward authorities in the western Gia Lai area need to focus on developing high-tech agriculture, especially key agricultural products with brands such as coffee, pepper, clean vegetables and fruits, medicinal herbs, pig farming, dairy cows... associated with the production, processing and consumption chain.
At the same time, increase investment attraction in agricultural product deep processing plants; proactively support difficulties, speed up the progress of agricultural projects applying high technology, especially agricultural product processing, livestock, afforestation projects... in the area.
