In the joyful atmosphere of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), Phu Nhuan District (HCMC) spread noble gestures, presented and repaired many shelters to policy families, people with meritorious services to the revolution and those in difficult circumstances.

In a spacious house that has just been repaired, Mr. Tran Thanh Phuong (69 years old, living in Phu Nhuan district), a war invalid who participated in the resistance war against the US, could not hide his emotions.
His eyes were filled with happiness when mentioning the loving support from the State. For the veteran, this is not only a home but also a recognition of their contributions and a comfort in old age.
"Luckily, the locality often visited and helped me repair my house. Now that I have finished the house, I am very happy and grateful," Mr. Phuong's voice trembled.

Sharing the same joy is Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh (60 years old, living in the same Phu Nhuan district), who lives with her 89-year-old mother in a dilapidated house. For many years, every time it rained, the mother and daughter had to stay up all night. "I can't sleep every time it rains," Ms. Thanh choked up as she recalled the long nights. The roof was broken, but she did not dare to climb up to repair it because of her old age and weakness.

Understanding her difficult situation, the authorities of Ward 7, Phu Nhuan District mobilized benefactors to build a new, solid, and warm charity house for her. In her great joy, Ms. Thanh was moved: "During those difficult days, my old house was so dilapidated that outsiders thought the house was abandoned. Every time it rains, I worry, now having a spacious house like this, I am very happy, happier than winning the lottery".
Mr. Nguyen Duong Quang Hien, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ward 7, Phu Nhuan District, shared: "The ward focuses on two main activities: urban renovation and support for house repairs for policy families and disadvantaged households. We prioritize families with revolutionary contributions during this April 30 anniversary. The ward also organizes a gratitude meal with people with meritorious services, showing regular concern, not just for the time".

Responding to the movement "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses", Phu Nhuan district has registered to build and repair 50 houses of gratitude. To date, the district has exceeded the target with 70 houses, with a total cost of more than 2 billion VND, of which 7 houses are completely newly built.
These meaningful actions contribute to enhancing the good traditions of the nation, spreading the warmth of humanity on the occasion of the important anniversary of the country.
The shelter of love is not only material but also a great source of spiritual encouragement, helping those in difficult circumstances have more faith and determination to rise up in life.
