According to the Department of Home Affairs of An Giang, in recent days, leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and Provincial People's Committee have organized inspection teams to inspect the operation of local government at both levels in communes, wards, and special zones in the province. Thereby, timely direction has been given to remove difficulties and obstacles for localities.
In particular, the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Party Committee held a meeting to connect with 102 commune-level bridges to evaluate the results of the operation of commune, ward and special zone governments, and issued a conclusion notice, in which relevant departments and branches were directed to have solutions to remove difficulties for localities.
The province has arranged 827 housing units as working headquarters for provincial-level public service agencies and units; there is currently a surplus of 95 facilities. Arrange 5,412 housing units as working headquarters for communes, wards, and special zones; surplus 668 units.
For surplus houses and land that are not arranged as working headquarters, career facilities will carry out the recovery, assign the Land Fund Development Center and organizations with the function of managing and trading houses to manage, exploit and handle according to regulations.
Regarding machinery, equipment and other assets: The total number of fixed assets in An Giang province under management and use is 172,850 assets. Agencies and units that have organized the handover of assets that can still be used to ensure the performance of tasks after the arrangement, without affecting the operation of the unit; minimizing the need to purchase new assets. Excess assets shall be conditioned between newly established administrative units or handled according to regulations.
Based on the proposal, the Provincial People's Committee approved the list of policy beneficiaries according to Decree No. 178/2024/ND-CP, Decree No. 67/2025/ND-CP of the Government, with a total of 1,321/1,918 cases, with a budget of over 975 billion VND. The remaining 597 dossiers are being reviewed, appraised and resolved in July 2025 in accordance with the direction of the Government.
The Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee has issued a policy to support cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers after the arrangement of administrative units. The Provincial People's Committee is drafting a Resolution on regulating policies and regimes to support cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers to submit to the Provincial People's Council for consideration and decision.
The Department of Home Affairs will continue to review, arrange and consolidate the organizational structure, regulate the functions, tasks and powers of specialized agencies under the Provincial People's Committee and the People's Committee at the commune level to ensure compliance with regulations. Review the overall arrangement of cadres, civil servants and public employees to gradually balance the surplus to the shortage between the People's Committees of communes, wards and special zones; coordinate and advise on the adjustment of cadres between the Party and government sectors to ensure harmony.
Timely issue documents guiding the implementation of salary regimes, salary allowances and implementation of other regimes and policies for civil servants, public employees and workers. Continue to review the arrangement of headquarters, facilities, and information technology infrastructure to ensure working conditions for agencies and units after the arrangement. Ensure resources for local authorities at the commune level to carry out decentralized and authorized tasks, especially prioritizing immediate attention to the Commune-level Public Administration Service Center.
