On August 19, the People's Committee of An Giang province held an inauguration ceremony and started construction of projects and works to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).
The program is connected to the bridge at the National Exhibition Center and broadcast live on VTV and television at the An Giang Provincial Theater Bridge.
Specifically, the Ha Tien City Coastal main Axis Road Project has a total investment of VND 1,400 billion. The implementation period is from 2025 to 2027.
The length is more than 13.3km, including the main route 7.3km, branch route N1 N2 (0.68km), route T1-T2 (5.31km). 6-lane road, designed speed of 40 - 60 km/h. Build 5 bridges, 17m wide, HL93 load. The sea dyke system is 7,395m long (outside), 1,829m (inner). There are 17 water discharge gates to the sea, lighting systems, trees, and intersections at the same level as National Highway 80.
The project will contribute to completing coastal infrastructure, creating space for new urban development of about 200 hectares in Thuan Yen, promoting trade - services - tourism, ensuring national defense and security in the Southwest sea area. The project is expected to bring a new look to To Chau ward, Ha Tien ward with spacious public beaches, complete urban landscape and land fund for developing new urban areas.
In addition, on this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee also inaugurated the An Giang Provincial Theater Project, with a total investment of VND 215.2 billion, a scale of 1,000 seats and professional rooms, teaching and practice. An Giang province does not have a large-scale theater, this project will become a cultural and artistic center, meeting the needs of creativity - cultural enjoyment, improving the spiritual life of the people.
Inauguration of the Project to build a regional connecting road, from Tan Chau town to Chau Doc city, connecting with Kien Giang and Dong Thap provinces (project name will not change after the merger). The total investment is more than VND 2,131 billion.
Connecting smoothly through National Highway N1, expanding trade with Dong Thap, Tay Ninh, and the southwestern border area, serving socio-economic development and national defense and security.
According to the Provincial People's Committee, the projects inaugurated and started working on this occasion are a testament to the efforts of the Party Committee, government and people of An Giang province in building synchronous infrastructure, developing culture, society and economy. This is a meaningful and practical gift to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2, while affirming the position of An Giang as a dynamic development center of the Southwest region, creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere, contributing to raising the province's appearance after the merger.
