On June 19, Mr. Dao Quang Khai - Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province and leaders of a number of relevant departments and branches inspected and resolved difficulties in the operation of the waste-to-energy plant ( waste-to-energy plant) in Luong Tai district.
The waste-to-energy plant in Luong Tai district, invested by EU-CONCH VENTURE Bac Ninh New Energy Company Limited, has an area of 8.7 hectares with a cost of more than 847 billion VND; waste treatment capacity of 300 tons/day and night, power generation capacity of 6 MWh.
Officially put into commercial operation since April 2024, the factory system has been operating stably, all technical indicators meet standards.
By the end of May 2025, the plant had received more than 210,000 tons of domestic waste in Luong Tai, Gia Binh and Yen Phong districts; the cumulative power generation was more than 56 million kWh.
However, during operation, the company still encountered some difficulties related to: the amount of waste supplied to the factory was less than the designed scale; unit price for waste treatment; plan to use the amount of treated ash in the fields of construction works, transportation...
Directly inspecting the operation, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dao Quang Khai affirmed that the province always cares about, creates conditions, and removes all difficulties and obstacles for waste-to-energy plants to come into operation, contributing to thoroughly solving the waste problem in the province.
In the coming time, Mr. Dao Quang Khai suggested that the Company's leadership focus on directing the operation of the Plant to ensure that it meets the requirements of environmental indicators; and to screen waste right from the input to reduce the rate of ashes and slag.
At the same time, pay attention to social security policies for workers, train and foster managers who are Vietnamese; urgently implement settlement to serve as a basis for developing a unit price for waste treatment to send to competent authorities for appraisal to submit to the Provincial People's Committee for approval.
With the goal of both thoroughly treating solid waste and supplementing energy sources to serve socio-economic development, in recent times, Bac Ninh province has implemented 4 projects to build waste-to-energy plants in the districts and towns of Que Vo, Thuan Thanh and Luong Tai with a total capacity of about 1,800 tons/day and night.
