National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man has just signed and issued Resolution No. 1658/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Bac Ninh province in 2025.
According to the Resolution, after the arrangement, Bac Ninh province has 99 commune-level administrative units, including 66 communes and 33 wards.
Of which, there are 65 communes, 33 wards formed after the arrangement and 1 commune that does not implement the arrangement is Tuan Dao commune.
Compared to the commune's standards stipulated in the National Assembly Standing Committee's resolution on standards and classification of administrative units, Tuan Dao has a natural area of 97.87 km2, reaching a rate of 195.74% and a population of 6,407 people, reaching a rate of 256.28%, of which ethnic minorities 2,749 people, accounting for 42.91%.
According to the standards specified in Point a, Clause 1, Article 5 of Resolution No. 76 dated April 14 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of administrative units in 2025, Tuan Dao commune has ensured the population size and natural area of 4.26%.
However, according to the explanation of the old Bac Giang province (before merging with Bac Ninh), Tuan Dao was a commune in Son Dong district, a poor district of the province, enjoying special policies such as the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction for the period 2021 - 2025, the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development of Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas, ...
Moreover, in 2019, the commune merged with Bong Am commune (Son Dong district), with a large area, many hills and mountains, divided by streams and culverts, so it could not merge with adjacent communes to ensure natural area standards.
